Player profile

Originally from northern Canada, Kara is a poker player and television presenter who splits her time between playing the game and hosting the biggest events on the live poker circuit.

Kara first got involved with poker when she landed a job as one of the main presenter of the cult poker show ‘Poker Night Live’. Not content to simply talk about the action on camera Kara decided to try the game for herself and quickly found success as a professional poker player, winning an incredible $413,612 for finishing second in the Irish Open.

On the back of that landmark win Kara went on to make her name as one of the very best female poker players in the world with back-to-back cashes in the World Series of Poker Main Event. In two consecutive years, Kara took on a field of over 6,000 diehard poker players to finish 104th and 238th. On both occasions she was the only female player to make it into the cash places.

You can catch Kara playing online at partypoker under the username 'KaraOTR' or follow her regular posts on the partypoker blog.
