December 13 saw Day 2 of the MILLIONS Online #01 Opener take place at partypoker. All 182 returning players, from a starting field of 1,220, were in the money, but it was Ivan Zufic who helped himself to the tournament’s biggest prize.
Zufic came out on top of a talented group of players at the seven-handed final table and secured a payout worth $43,387 with bounties included.
MILLIONS Online #01 Opener Final Table Results
|2||Ben Warrington||United Kingdom||$4,171||$23,507|
|4||David Lasierra||United Kingdom||$4,791||$10,258|
Scores of stellar players bowed out before the final table of this $32 buy-in event. They included Team partypoker trio Joao Simao, Matthew Staples, and Patrick Leonard, the latter bowing out in 64th place. Progressing deeper than Leonard but missing out on a final table berth were such luminaries as Stefan Jedlicka, Damian Salas, Bruno Volkmann, Ole Schemion, Jack Sinclair, and final table bubble boy Benjamin Chalot, who you may recall is a former MILLIONS Online Main Event winner.
Each of the seven finalists locked in a prize of more than $5,000 when you added bounty payments to their main prize pool payout.
Finnish star Tomi Brouk was the first of those seven to fall by the wayside. Roman Kuljis, the legendary Christian Rudolph, and David Lasierra followed suit to the rail. Third place and a total score worth $16,611 went to Ignas Jasinevicius, whose elimination left Zufic heads-up against British pro Ben Warrington.
Both heads-up players receive a shade over $23,500 from the main prize pool, but the bounties were now in five-figure territory. This meant Zufic bolstered his prize with $19,842 in scalps when he defeated Warrington in the one-on-one battle. Warrington boosted his payout with $4,171 from the bounty prize pool.
