And We’re Done With Day 3.
We saw six exciting 90 minute levels on Day 3. We started with 78 players and it only took us a few hands to reach the 72 paid places. Action didn’t stop there, on the contrary. Players seemed to be on a rush to exit the tournament and by the end of the day only 22 of them packed down their chips (average stack 730,000).
We’re waiting for the official chipcounts, but it is very obvious that it is Tony Chang to be on the top spot. During the last 30 minutes he built up to 2,173,000.

Bodo vs. Kevin.
Preflop aggressor Bodo Sbrzesny played out a hand against Kevin Mac Phee ending up taking down a nice pot. Kevin opted to check-call on every street. It took him some time to make a decision on the river when Bodo bet 180k. He finally called and mucked after seing Bodo’s flopped set of threes.
Tournament clock is stopped, we’re playing the last three hands.
More Eliminations.
We reported on some of those busts, but here’s some names to add to the list posted earlier.
24. Konstantin Puchkov – € 12,260
25. Byron Kaverman – € 12,260
26. Toby Lewis – € 12,260
27. Michael Graydon – € 10,810
28. Lucille Cailly – € 10,810
29. Gianluca Mattia – € 10,810
30. Jussi Nevanlinna – € 10,810
With Lucille Cailly out in 28th place Prague won’t be the first open WPT Main Event to be taken down by a female player.
How’s PartyPoker doing?
With 26 players left, lets look at the stack of the PartyPoker and bwin warriors out there. They all have guaranteed € 10,810 in prize money. The best news: none of them is extremely short, although with blinds 6k/12k and ante 2k even an average stack of 650,000 in chips can disappear in a heartbeat.
Bodo Sbrzesny – 1,300,000
Kevin Mac Phee – 770,000
Wojciech ‘Wozzo’ Lozowski – 550,000
Fabian Quoss – 430,000
Michael Graydon Eliminated in 27th Place – € 10,810.
We saw Tony Chang in an all in situation against Irishman Michael Graydon. Michael was in good shape, holding jacks against Tony’s . Michael’s world looked great on the flop, blank on the turn … but then the mighty ace hit the river.
Instead of celebrating a double up Michael had to pack his things and leave the tournament area.
Jussi Nevanlinna Eliminated in 30th Place – € 9,360.
(We struggled with the internet connection, looks like we’re back online now)
It was Konstantin Danilov, who opened the action in early position for 22,000. Shannon Shorr called and Jussi Nevanlinna popped it up to 62,000 in the big blind. Both opponents called and the three of them saw the flop .
Jussi checked, Konstantin bet 150k and Shannon folded. It was back to Jussi, who min-raised to 300k after tanking for over a minute. Konstantin went straight all in and got a call from Jussi.
Showdown:
Jussi Nevanlinna:
Konstantin Danilov:
Nothing interesting on the turn or river. While Jussi had to leave in 30th place, Konstantin is now up to something like 1,3 million in chips. At this point he could be our new chipleader.
Cards Are Back In The Air.
Play in the WPT Prague Main Event has resumed 20 minutes ago and we already witnessed two players leaving the tournament.
32. Mikhail Morozovs – € 9,360
31. Yannick Bonnet – € 9,360
Bodo Sbrzesny has had a great Day 3 so far. Starting with less than 200,000 in chips, he built his stack towards a top spot. His stack has more than a million of chips in it and Bodo sure knows how to handle them.
Dinnerbreak.
32 players from the Main Event are heading towards the buffet. There might be a long line there, as all the side event players received a dinner voucher as well, courtesy of the Kings Casino.
Everyone in the Main Event has € 9,360 guaranteed, once we’re down to three tables the payout will rise to € 10,810.
Here’s a list of all the players ITM so far:

71. Mario Nakowitz – € 5,000
72. Trevor Whiteway – € 5,000
Marco Lang Out in 35th Place – €9,360.
He started Day 3 as the overall chipleader, now he’s out. It hasn’t been the best day for Marco Lang, who looks slightly disappointed when picking up his winnings.
His last 400,000 chips now belong to Elio Fox, who once again took over the chiplead with 1,3 million. It all happened when Mario squeezed but got raised again by Elio. Mario wasn’t impressed and went all in. Snap call by Elio.

Last Woman Standing.
The field in the WPT Prague Main Event is down to the last 35 players. Among them, there’s Lucille Cailly. In April, she almost took down the EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo. She would have been the first woman to ever win an EPT Main Event. She could set that record straight by winning in Prague and being the first woman to win a WPT Main Event (not counting Natalia Nikitina, who won at the WPT National Paris).
A Change At The Top.
While Elio Fix still hasn’t much reason to complain, there’s a new chipleader in the WPT Prague Main Event. Michael Gagliano is the only person who has more than a million in chips in front of him.
While writing this, Gagliano busted Gani Weiss. There was a lot of action preflop that ended with Gani moving all in and Gagliano’s call.
It was Gagliano’s kings who didn’t fall against Gani’s jacks.
Two Tables in the Highroller.
With 18 players so far there’s two full tables in the €10,000 Highroller Event. We only glanced at it, but recognized Bertrand ‘Elky’ Grospellier, Eugene Katchalov, Mike ‘Timex’ McDonald and Besim Hot, as well as the earlier mentioned John Eames, Sean Jazayeri, Juha Helppi, Steve O’Dwyer and Jonathan Duhamel.
We’re down to 38 players in the Main Event. Everyone has € 8,060 guaranteed, next step is at 6 players (€ 9,360).
Wozzo Doubles Again.
Last time we wrote about Wojciech Lozowski, it was a double up. So lets do it again.
With on the flop and over 60,000 in the pot, Oleksii Khoroshenin tries to put Wozzo to the test and moves all in. Our bwin player insta-calls with his remaining 110,000.
Oleksii Khoroshenin:
Wojciech Lozowski:
With overcards and flushdraw there are lots of outs for the bwin Player. While the on the turn didn’t help, a queen on the river delivers him the winning hand.
€10k Highroller Event.
100,000 chips starting stack and 40 minutes blind levels. The luxury only costs you €10,000.
So far, we have eleven entries into the Highroller Event, a couple of players are still considering whether or not to join. Late registration will be open for the first levels. Players may even re-enter the tournament during the late registration period.
Here’s who’s playing for sure: John Eames, Sean Jazayeri, Juha Helppi, Steve O’Dwyer and Jonathan Duhamel.
Elio Fox Leading.
Dealers did an approximate count of all the stack in the Main Event. In first position sits 2011 WSOP Europe Main Event winner Elio Fox. Bodo Sbrzesny just took a big step towards the top by eliminating Ghassan El Hoss.

Konstantin Puchkov 75,000
Lucky Turn For Wojciech Lozowski.
Wozzo hasn’t been involved in much action so far on Day 3. When he went all in with 130,000 chips it looked like it could be tehe end of his WPT Prague Main Event run. His pocket threes were far behind Konstantin Danilov’s jacks.
Wozzo managed to hit a set on the turn and doubled up.
Waiting For Accurate Chipcounts.
Two levels are played. During the 15-minutes break dealers have been asked to count all the stacks at their table. Hopefully we can provide you with up to date chipcounts right after the break.
Elisabeth Hille Out.
Dmitry Gromov has eliminated multiple players on Day 3. His latest victim is 2012 WSOP Main Event 11th place finisher Elisabeth Hille from Norway.
The two went into a coinflip with Dmitry holding eights against Elisabeth’s [Ax][Qx]. The pocket pair held and Elisabeth Hille cashed for the first time in a WPT event.
Updates on the bustouts so far:
50. Elisabeth Hille – € 6,940
51. Nicholas Galtos – € 6,940
52. Morten Christensen – € 6,940
53. Emil Mattsson – € 6,940
54. Ilkin Amirov – € 6,940
55. Alexander Staengle – € 5,810
56. Andrei Nikonov – € 5,810
WPT Vienna Winner Morten Christensen Out.
The Dane won this spring and cashed for € 310,000 in Austria. It wasn’t as much this time. In 52nd place Morten takes home € 6,940.
He got all his chips in with [Qx][Tx] on a [Qx][Qx][Jx] flop. Unfortunately for him, his opponent flopped a full house holding [Qx][Jx].
Here’s a video of what he said right before the final table of the 2012 WPT Vienna.
Elisabeth Hille Fighting For Survival.
She started Day 3 with a little less than average. It looks like she lost a significant part of her stack during the first two hours of play. We’ve seen her pushing with 100k multiple times. So far it worked every time, with blinds 2,5k/5k and ante 500 every uncontested pot has 12,000 in it.
Who’s Gone In What Place?
Bodo Sbrzesny has been busy building his stack. So far he took out three other players on Day 3. His latest victim was Finnish pro Juha Helppi who moved in with . Bodo called with pocket nines. He didn’t just win the coinflip, he nailed it. With two more nines on the board Juha didn’t have much against Bodo’s quads.
Here’s the eliminations so far:
57. Juha Helppi – € 5,810
58. Ben Hamnett – € 5,810
59. Ryan Franklin – € 5,810
60. Keven Stammen – € 5,810
61. Markus Heusinger – € 5,810
62. Alexander Gerlach – € 5,810
63. Claus Nielsen – € 5,000
64. Arpad Kovecses – € 5,000
65. Vasili Fursau – € 5,000
66. Ivan Kuziv – € 5,000
67. Daniel Erlandssen – € 5,000
68. Bartolome Gomila Romero – € 5,000
69. Denis Drobyna – € 5,000
70. Eddie Tasbas – € 5,000
71. Mario Nakowitz – € 5,000
72. Trevor Whiteway – € 5,000
Ivan Kuziv eliminated in 62nd place.
It’s another one of our players who’s been sent to the rail. Ivan Kuziv tried to steal blinds and antes with his shortstack holding [9x][Jx]. He ran against [Ax][Kx] and that’s all the information we have (and need).
He managed to get into the next payout level and takes home € 5,810.
Amatos Eliminated By Kevin Mac Phee.
Amatos Gomila didn’t start Day 3 with a huge stack. Just now he got it all in preflop with pocket jacks against Kevin Mac Phee.
Kevin shows kings and it’s all up to fate.
Have a look at how the board ran down and imagine the reactions of the players:
[8x][Tx][9x][Qx][Jx]
At least the chips stay in the family, as Kevin Mac Phee is playing on the bwin Team. Amatos cashes for € 5,000.
Rush To The Rails.
It seems that players are in a hurry to leave the tournament. We saw a three-way all in a minute ago with two players eliminated in the process.
Sergey Vasilyev: [Kx][Kx]
Eddie Tasbas: [Qx][Qx]
Mario Nakowitz: [Ax][Kx]
Sergey’s kings did the trick and we’re down to 68 players.
Dimitry Grishin Is Our Bubble Boy.
Hand for hand play didn’t last long. It took less than a minute to find our Bubble Boy. It was Russian player Dimitry Grishin who got it all in preflop with [Kx][Jx] against .
72 players had good reasons to congratulate each other after Dimitry left the table.
Hand For Hand.
That went fast. We’re down to 73 players after 20 minutes of play on Day 3. Now it’s hand for hand player until we found our unlucky bubble boy.
First Elimination On Day 3.
bwin’s Tasos Belesis is the first one to be sent to the rail. He started the day as shortstack (37,500) and it didn’t take him long to invest them. When PartyPoker Team Pro Bodo Sbrzesny opened utg, Tasos went all in on the button with deuces. Bodo called with [Kx][Jx] and hit two kings on the board.
