What an incredible day May 12 was for the WPT Online Series. The WPT500 crowned its champion, as did the PLO High Roller and a handful of other tournaments. Fabio Sperling won the WPT500 after a four-handed deal that saw more than $900,000 distributed! Let’s take a closer look at how things went down.

WPT #03 – WPT500: $2M Gtd

The WPT500 ended in a four-handed chop that saw each of the four players win between $187,289 and $281,125.

Before that deal could be struck, the final table had to be whittled down.

Guiseppe Vassallo of Germany busted in eighth and turned his $530 into $23,174. Daan Mulder of the Netherlands joined Vassallo on the rail with $35,799 reasons to be cheerful.

Sixth-place and $50,887 went to Russia’s Arutyun Saakyan before Philipp Dietrich of Germany collected $74,785 for his fifth place finish.

The tournament was paused while the remaining four players looked at the numbers of an ICM-based deal. They liked the look of them, agreed to them, and the tournament concluded.

Christopher Putz was the fourth place finisher when the dust had settled. He walked away $187,289 richer as part of the deal. Markus Prinz banked $202,012 and finished third, with Walter Treccarich scooping $235,666 for his second-place finish. Treccarich started the final day as the chip leader and almost went all the way.

Congratulations to Fabio Sperling, the 2020 WPT Online Series WPT500 champion, an accolade that comes with $281,125 in prize money.

WPT #22 – PLO High Roller: $1M Gtd

Andrew Pantling won the PLO High Roller and secured a massive $302,287 payout. Pantling played well and ran well to the point he had a 100 big blind stack when play was four-handed. The next largest stack of chips was worth 25 big blinds!

He used that big stack to his advantage and became a WPT Online Series champion. Marcello Marigiliano was the runner-up, the UK-based grinder can’t be too displeased with the $204,000 he collected for second-place.

Earlier at the final table, Gavin Cochrane exited in sixth for $49,800 with Finnish superstar Jens Kyllonen reeling in the $75,000 fifth-place prize. Fourth place and $102,000 went to Veselin Karakitukov with Andras Nemeth putting in yet another incredible performance that resulted in a $144,000 score.

Maksim Shuts banked $27,384 for his fourth-place finish from his home in Belarus, while Joao Vieira’s superb form continued with a third-place finish here. This weighed in at $37,800.
