If you enjoyed the coverage of World Poker Tour National London on Day 1A then hold onto your hats, if you are wearing them that is, because Day 1B could be spectacular.
We have just spoken to the floor staff who informed us that we could see 200 players buying in over the course of today – remember you can buy in until the end of sixth 60-minute level. Should we see 200 players register that would take the total entrants to 304 and the prize pool would be boosted to a most impressive £456,000! Someone could be taking home a six-figure score here at the Aspers Casino Westfield.
A number of players who busted out on Day 1A are expected to return to the casino today armed with £1,650 which they will use to re-enter this superb event. The likes of Lucille Cailly has already confirmed via Twitter that she is re-entering and it would be surprising if her compatriot Fabrice Soulier did not follow suit.
There is also a rumour circulating that Dave “DevilFish” Ulliott is in London and is coming to play this tournament, though we cannot confirm that at this time. It would be fun to have him in the field though, wouldn’t it?
Any player who wants to be referred to as the overall chip leader is going to have to accumulate at least 128,700 chips – the total that Sebastian Mueller turned his 25,000 starting stack into on Friday’s Day 1A.
Play starts at 14:00GMT and will continue until eight 60-minute levels have been played. There will be a 15-minute break at the end of every second level, with a 60-minyte dinner break at the end of Level 4.
