The 2021 WPT World Online Championships is gathering pace with both the $1 million guaranteed Opener and the $200,000 guaranteed Mini Opener both marching towards their final day’s action on August 23.
Some 4,048 players have bought into the $215 Opener so far, and 298 have progressed through to the final day’s action. Aleksandr Shepel is currently the man to catch having amassed 2,359,838 chips thanks, in part to eliminating eight opponents during his Day 1. Shepel’s impressive stack knocks long-time leader Jonathan Skovsen into second place.
