Talal Shakerchi – The hedge fund manager eliminated Phil laak and saw his stack swell to 651,000 and he is now in a great position to finish in one of the high points scoring positions.
Bad level for
Phil Laak – “The Unabomber” busted out in eighth place and picked up no points. Laak now only has seven points going into the final heat, which will be played tomorrow.
Jennifer Tilly – The actress lost 87,000 chips for the second level in a row.
Hand of the level
Tobias Reinkemeier opened with and he was called in three spots. First, Talal Shakerchi called with , Phil Laak called with and Dan Shak called with .
The quartet saw the flop come down and the action checked to Shakerchi who led for 20,000. Laak raised to 60,000 and this raise folded everyone out, except Shakerchi. After a brief pause, Shakerchi moved all in and Laak snap-called.
The kept Laak ahead but he needed to dodge a seven or a diamond to stay alive and avoid picking up the dreaded bagel. The river was the , improving Shakerchi to trips and resigning Laak to eighth place.
