Hello and welcome to the PartyPoker.com Premier League VI which is taking place at Aspers Casino in Stratford, which is just a stone’s throw from the Olympic Stadium.

There are 16 world class players all hoping to be standing on top of the podium come Saturday night, they’ve been divided into two groups of eight and the alphabet dictates that Group A gets underway tonight.

And boy is Group A a doozy, taking to the felt for the first of four heats is a veritable cornucopia of poker talent. In seat order for the first heat we have:

Daniel Negreanu – Two WPT titles, four WSOP bracelets, sixth on the all-time money list with over $16,000,000 in lifetime earnings.

Scott Seiver – The defending champion is in great form in 2013 winning a $100,000 high roller event at the start of the year. He’ll be hoping to become the first two-time winner of the PartyPoker.com Premier League.

Jonathan Duhamel – The winner of the 2010 WSOP Main Event has proven he’s no one hit wonder with a string of impressive results in High Roller events.

Antonio Esfandiari – Two WPT titles, three WSOP bracelets, winner of The Big One for One Drop and top of the all time money list.

Sam Trickett – The only hope of a home winner rests in the capable hands of Sam Trickett. The Brit has been tearing it up a second place finish in the WPT

Phil Hellmuth – With a total of 13, the Poker Brat has the most WSOP bracelets in history. He’s the only player to ever win the WSOP and WSOPE main events.

Dan ‘Jungleman’ Cates – Whilst the high stakes cash game pro’s best results have come online, he’s no slouch on the live felt and finished runner-up to Scott Seiver in this event in Season V.

Marvin Rettenmaier – Winner of back to back WPT Titles the TeamPartyPoker.com is the hottest property in tournament poker right now and sits atop the GPI tournament rankings.
