PartyPoker Premier League Poker series is in a league all its own and Premier League Poker V is raising the bar even higher. Two qualifiers will fight their way through the preliminary rounds to join 14 of the world’s top poker pros — including Tony G, Patrik Antonius, and Erik Seidel — in a $125,000 buy-in final with a prizepool of more than $2 million.
Both the initial playoffs and the finals will be televised and PartyPoker online players can win $13,000 trip packages that send them to Vienna on an all-expenses paid quest to see if they can topple the elite of the poker world.
Joining the above pros will be Vanessa Selbst, Luke Schwartz, Sam Trickett, and Andy Frankenburger (who’ll be defending his title from the Premier League Mixed Game Championship event at the Playboy Club last November).
Is Tony G Terrified of Max Pescatori?
One familiar face from that event who is on the fence about competing in Premier League Poker V is Max Pescatori, who we caught up with at WPT Venice to get his thoughts on his rivalry with Tony G and the Premier League in general:
As far as handicapping the field so far, it’d be hard to root against Erik Seidel, who’s success over the last few years in high roller and super high roller events is second to none.
Patrik Antonius just finished runner-up to a fish called Phil Ivey in the $250,000 buy-in event at the 2012 Aussie Millions for a $1.25 million payday so he’ll have a little momentum of his own when they take their seats at the Montesino Casino in April for Premier League Poker V.
All Aboard for WPT Vienna
Vienna will be the center of the poker universe in early April, with the Premier League action leading right into WPT Vienna, which is looking to build on the success it saw in its first stop ever there last year.
PartyPoker online players can grab their $7,000 WPT Vienna trip packages in the weekly online finals that run every Sunday, offering the perfect way to get your very own taste of World Poker Tour action.
