Playground Poker Club is Canada’s premier poker destination, hosting several major poker events including World Poker Tour stops. Today, partypoker is delighted to announce that we have formed a strategic partnership with Playground Poker Club, and are announcing a $2 million guaranteed World Cup of Cards.

Kicking off the new partnership is the CAD$500,000 guaranteed Canadian Grand Prix tournament between September 2-5, 2016, a headline event for the World Cup of Cards (WCC) festival.

The WCC is a month-long poker festival featuring 39 tournaments, including the Canadian Grand Prix, and the partypoker sponsored WPT National event, and boasts of more than CAD$2 million in guaranteed prize pools.

Playground Poker Club CMO, Phil Sabbah, said of the partnership: “I am thrilled to announce this partnership with partypoker. This multi-year agreement gives all of our club members the opportunity to play prestigious partypoker events online and also allows us to run online satellites for our live events aimed at the entire Canadian market.”

Equally as excited about the potential of the new partnership is Group Head of partypoker Tom Waters, who said: “We are looking forward to working with the Playground Poker team who have built a hugely successful live poker experience for the North American poker community. Using their intricate knowledge of the Canadian poker market, we have the opportunity to reinvigorate the partypoker brand, attract a new generation of players and provide a platform for our existing online users that will give them the experience of playing live poker at Playground all year round.”

In the coming weeks, Playground Poker Club will have its own dedicated tab in the partypoker tournament lobby where you will be able to find online satellites for all major live events at the club, including the upcoming GPPT Canada, so stay tuned!
