Both flights of the $25,500 WPT High Roller Championship are done and dusted. Only 28 of the 199 partypoker players who started the tournament with high hopes remain in contention for the $1,094,460 top prize and a place in the WPT history books.
Pascal Hartmann is the man to catch going into Day 2 on September 21 but there are some super-talented players who are hot on Hartmann’s heels.

Hartmann finished as the Day 1A chip leader with 1,964,082 chips and that stack is enough for the overall chip lead at the tournament’s restart. Hartmann has already won two WPTWOC events, bagging a $22,417 score at the start of the series and another $27,012 at the beginning of September. Now he’s hoping for a seven-figure score from being crowned the High Roller champion.
Canada’s Christopher Fitzgerald returns to the action second in chips after topping the Day 1B field. Fitzgerald has 1,312,702 chips in his arsenal or a shade under 94 big blinds. That’s a huge stack, especially with the blinds now increasing every 40-minutes, up from 25-minutes on Day 1.
Team partypoker has three players sitting back down with enough chips for top 10 stacks.
Mikita Badziakouski is the best-placed of that trio, he has 1,250,461 chips, enough for third-place at the restart. Jason Koon is another of our stars with a seven-figure stack. Koon busted on Day 1A but took another shot on Day 1B and bagged up 1,007,130 chips at the close of play. His stack is the sixth-largest of the 28 returning players.
Ludovic Geilich is also in the top 10, tenth-place in fact, with 797,634. Geilich should be confident of helping himself to yet another six-figure score or better.
Some of the world’s best players are sandwiched between the orange diamonds of our team. The likes of Ole Schemion (1,103,933), Kahle Burns (969,133), and Laszlo Bujtas (910,909) are poised for a final table appearance.
Others still in the hunt include Stephen Chidwick (666,999), Rui Ferreira (652,721), Daniel Dvoress (492,621), Timothy Adams (459,213), Andras Nemeth (450,812), Jake Schindler (407,119), Ali Imsirovic (368,485), and Wiktor Malinowski (149,685).
Play resumes at 20:05 CEST on September 21 and continues until only seven players remain. Those seven players sit back down at 20:05 CEST on September 22 and play until a champion is crowned.
All 28 returning players are in the money and have locked up $56,750. Reaching the official final table boosts this to $173,300 with the eventual champion securing a cool $1,094,460.
