The Big Game, partypoker’s popular televised high stakes cash game, is set to return this month.
The world’s most famous cash game, will take place during the first MILLIONS Germany festival at Kings Casino in Rozvadov. Running for 36 hours non-stop, the eight-handed €50/€100 game will kick off at 6pm on Saturday 10th February and run non-stop until 6am on Monday, 12th February.

Among those set to take part in Big Game VIII are a host of seasoned pros and VIP businessmen including partypoker Ambassador Sam Trickett, Dusk till Dawn owner Rob Yong, two-time world champion darts player Michael Van Gerwen, successful businessman Yair Bitouin (known as ‘The Wolf’ in high stakes poker circles), Lithuanian businessman Tony G and international poker superstars Viktor Blom, and Team partypoker’s Philipp Gruissem.

Win your way into the Big Game
Players will be required to buy-in for a minimum of €20,000 with the maximum set at €40,000. An online qualifier will also have the chance to compete in the game by winning a seat in the partypoker Big Game Challenge. The winning player will win a package worth over $27,000, including:
- $20,000 Big Game buy-in
- $5,300 MILLIONS Online entry
- €1,100 MILLIONS Open entry
- 5 nights’ accommodation
- $900 for travel and expenses
The online promotion will run between 25th January and 4th February on partypoker.
One of the key features of the original partypoker Big Game was the vote-off, which has been brought back for the new edition. Every three hours viewers are given the opportunity to vote to save their favorite player from being evicted from the game. The player with the most votes as well as the most aggressive player will be saved until the next round of voting, with the player with the least votes leaving the game.
Big Game party button booster
A new element to the Big Game will be the party button booster which is bound to bring some fun, drama and action to the table. Whoever draws the button in the first hand places a dead big blind on the button and every player continues to add a big blind to the button booster when it is their button until the button wins the hand in which case they win the button booster. When it is won the booster then reverts to one big blind put in by the next player on the button.
Some of those set to play have already tasted success in earlier editions of the game; Tony G dominated Big Game V and made £150,450 profit at Dusk Till Dawn Casino while Jennifer Tilly also thrived in Nottingham and was up £66,925 at the end of the 48 hour session.
The last Big Game was held at Merit Crystal Cove in North Cyprus where French veteran Roger Hairabedian was $37,600 up after a 12-hour marathon. He and Sam Trickett were the only two players to survive evictions and play the entirety of the game. At Big Game VI, it was Phil “Unabomber” Laak who was the big winner, snagging over $160,000 at Montesino Casino in Vienna.
Big names talk Big Game
partypoker Ambassador Sam Trickett said: “I’m really looking forward to the return of the Big Game. It’s always huge fun to play – even if you don’t win – and I’m looking forward to testing my PLO skills against the likes of Isildur and Tony G. The Big Game is also a great opportunity for an online qualifier to take on the best in the game and maybe even win. This is one of the most popular poker shows on TV so it’s a high profile event and will be a very exciting part of the MILLIONS Germany schedule in Rozvadov.”
Tony G, who dominated the Big Game V, said: “I am going to take everything they have – and then more!”
Kings Casino owner Leon Tsoukernik added: “King’s is well known for its variety of cash games but this televised Big Game will surely be the longest we’ve ever had here. We look forward to welcoming everybody to our new casino and hotel.”
Earlier episodes of the Big Game are now available to watch on Front Runner, Sky ch468 and Freesat ch250 UK only as well as on partypoker TV via the My partypoker LIVE app.
Some of the biggest names in poker have taken part in previous editions of the Big Game including Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, Luke Schwartz, Mike Matusow, Scott Baumstein, Faraz Jaka, Alec Torelli, Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier and Daniel “Jungleman” Cates.
