With just 24 players left in the World Poker Tour National Main Event and us having two PartyPoker qualifiers still vying for the title it was inevitable they would cross paths at some stage.
Paul Coughlan and Mikael Johansson are both on Table 3, Coughlan in seat three and Johansson in seat nine. So far they haven’t had to tangle with each other, but that could all change in the near future because Coughlan is short stacked an in need of some chips pronto.
Table 1 is down another player, Giacomo Fundaro being the latest casualty. He called an Elior Sion shove on a river only to discover Sion had flopped a set of deuces. Fundaro’s exit leaves Manig Loeser as the only player in the Global Poker Index rankings.
