Day 2 of the $1 million guaranteed WPT Micro Main Event started with 1,365-players in the hunt for the title of champion but only 56 of those hopefuls managed to navigate their way through to the third and final day. $148,985 awaits the eventual champion and there’s a very good chance the winner will hail from Brazil because five of the current top 10 are from the land of samba!

Alexandre Andrade is the man to catch going into the final day. Andrade finished Day 2 with a tournament-leading stack of 69,992,675 and is now in pole position for the title and the huge top prize.

Germany’s Niko Wieland came close to claiming the overnight chip lead but Andrade pipped him at the post. Wieland finished eight in the 2018 partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Germany Main Event for €70,000 and will be looking to best that score when play resumes at 20:00 CEST on September 1.

Andrade’s fellow Brazilian return to the action in positions seventh through 10th. Marceloa Crippa, Daniel Dias Paes, Andre Cuco and Luiz Antonion Silva Constantino will no doubt be cheered on by a raucous rail when our exclusive cards-up Tiwtch coverage begins.

There are two orange diamonds left in the field with both hoping to take down the title on home soil.

Matthew Staples sits back down with 12,782,064 chips, which places him 50th at the restart. Staples has plenty of work to do if he is to emerge victoriously, but he can do it if anyone can. He’s got a shade under 13 big blinds in his stack so is only one double-up away from being right back in contention.

Patrick Leonard is the other Team partypoker pro still in the field. Leonard has 22,226,155 chips in front of him, enough for 35th place. Leonard is nicely poised to reel in that six-figure top prize.
