After more than six weeks of action, the highlight of the WPT® World Online Championships is on the horizon, with satellites for the WPT World Online Championships Main Event now in action.
The Main Event will pay out a minimum guarantee of $10,000,000. The buy-in is $10,300, and Day 1A will take place on Sunday, September 6, 2020. There are more than 200 guaranteed seats into the first day’s action waiting to be won.
All types of players are encouraged to get involved and give themselves a chance to be a WPT World Online Championships winner, and players can enter feeders to the satellites from as little as $2.20, which they can eventually turn into a $10,300 seat.
There will also be several Mega Sats giving players chances to enter the tournament. The Mega Sats will have two separate buy-in levels: $530 and $1,050.
Team partypoker’s Richard Dubini has already showed how it can be done, as he qualified from a $109 satellite to win a $10,300 partypoker LIVE passport and he will be using it to play the Main Event.

On top of the cash prize for the Main Event winner, they will also receive a $15,000 added value ticket to the next WPT Tournament of Champions (TOC), presented by Baccarat Crystal. Their name will be engraved on the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup trophy and they will be given a replica version. They will also join the exclusive WPT Champions Club and will win a Hublot Big Bang timepiece watch worth $15,000 and a set of Everyday Baccarat Tumblers.
There are also satellites running for Day 1B of the $1,050 buy-in WPT Mini Main Event Championship, which will also be held on Sunday, September 6, with 1,000 seats to play for. The tournament began on Sunday, August 30 and will pay out a minimum guarantee of $5,000,000. There will be another Monster Satellite on Saturday, September 5, with 100 tickets guaranteeing a place in the event for a $33 buy-in. A total of 15 of the 100 Monster Sat winners from Saturday, August 29 made Day 2 and are still in with a shot of winning a share of the $5,000,000.
The WPT World Online Championships satellites have already helped several low buy-in players pull off magnificent success stories. A perfect example of this is Liliane Figueiredo, who won $13,153 after qualifying for the $109 WPT 6-Max Mini Warm Up via a WPT Second Chance Freeroll.
Just this week, Kim Heidemann also showed how satellites can lead to hefty prizes by qualifying for the WPT Micro Main Event through a satellite, before going on to finish second, winning $104,299.

The WPT World Online Championships, hosted by partypoker, are running until Thursday, September 24, 2020, with many tens of millions of dollars in tournament guarantees still to play for. The series is designed to replicate an authentic live poker experience. Players’ real names will be used at the tables and there will be a maximum of two Day 1s for the championship events in the series, with a maximum of one re-entry allowed per day.
