Over 2,200 players started this event (2,237 to be precise) and they are down to just nine players, who will fight it out this afternoon to become the $1m GTD Party Poker Grand Prix Malta Champion, along a monster payday of €144,100.
Italian Eros Nastasi has the chip lead going into the final and is currently in possession of just over 23m chips, with Argentinian Jacques Ammiel Blit leading the chasing pack on a little over 18m. The South American player was the chip leader from Day 1B of the event and also cashed in the Party Poker MILLIONS Main Event.
The most experienced player on the final table is Italian Andrea Benelli, who has cashed for almost $2m in live tournaments and has been a regular visitor to Malta for over a decade. He has several significant wins already under his belt, but starts today as one of the shortest stacks on the final table.
Follow all the action from the live stream on on the PartyPokerTV Twitch channel. Play will commence at 2pm (local time, or 1pm if you’re in the UK), with cards on a 30-minute delay. Jason Glatzer will host the commentary, with special guest Matt Staples.
