This week’s edition of the partypoker $200K Guaranteed Sunday was slightly unusual in that it ended with three players in the hunt for the title of champion. With the three remaining players almost neck-and-neck (and neck) in terms of chip counts and with the clocks displaying 06:21 BST, they decided to split the remaining prize pool three ways and each take home more than $17,900 each.
Let’s find out how this trio got to that stage.
partypoker $200K Guaranteed Sunday Final Table (June 22, 2014)
Fifteen hands into the final table mark_aussie looked down at under the gun and min-raised to 30,000. A couple of seats over, LeRenard222 called and the action then folded around to thtsmybttn in the small blind. He moved all-in for 257,609 in total only to see FedeKat — the chip leader at this point – move all in for 1.14 million. Mark_aussie called all-in and a massive 816,327 pot was created.
The flop put thtsmybttn firmly into the lead, but there was still a side pot to play for between mark_aussie and FedeKat. The on the turn and river ensured that pot went to FedeKat and mark_aussie headed to the sidelines to collect ninth place money.
Twenty-five hands later and pocket queens were more kind to AAleshkAA than they were mark_aussie. LeRenard222 min-raised to 40,000 and then called when AAleshkAA re-raised to 88,888 from the next seat along.
LeRenard222 checked the flop, AAleshkAA bet 80,000 and then instantly called when LeRenard222 check-raised all-in for 308,644 chip in total. AAleshkAA turned over and was way ahead of LeRenard222’s . It stayed that was as the turn and river fell and to leave the final table with seven players.
Those seven became six after another 11 hands of play. hitman8118, down to 60,288 chips at the 12,500/25,000/2,500a level, moved all in from the hijack seat with what turned out to be and IgrulyaXuEVa called on the button with . Those sevens held as the five community card ran and hitman8118 was eliminated.
Next to head out of the door was qalgt a short while after hitman8118 had bust. From under the gun, IgrulyaXuEVa min-raised to 50,000 and qalgt three-bet all-in for 284,571 from the next seat along. The action folded back to IgrulyaXuEVa and he called.
IgrulyaXuEVa showed and was dominating the of qalgt. Neither player improved on the board, but IgrulyaXuEVa’s queen-kicker came into play qalgt was gone.
The players ramped up the aggression when play was five-handed and it was surprising to see 45 hands take place before something finally gave and one of the remaining quintet was busted. Agsin it was IgrulyaXuEVa who did the damage, first opening to 60,000 from the cutoff and then calling when Blocs re-raised all-in from the button for 287,264 in total.
IgrulyaXuEVa flipped over and needed some help from the board because Blocs held . Blocs’ tens held firm on the flop, but fell way behind on the river. The completed the board and confirmed Blocs’ exit from the tournament.
On hand number 50 of four-handed play, FedeKat raised twice the size of the big blind to 80,000 and saw IgrulyaXuEVa raise all-in from the small blind for 975,612 in total. FedKat made the call and then saw the bad news that his was in bad shape against IgrulyaXuEVa’s .
The five community cards ran and FedeKat busted.
Three handed play started with the players almost level in chips. IgrulyaXuEVa was leading with 1,809,808 and thtsmybttn on 1,496,308. Bringing up the rear, but only just, was AAleshkAA on 1,438,884 – told you they were close!
The trio played a total of 16 hands together with AAleshkAA pulling close to IgrulyaXuEVa in terms of chips before they decided to take advantage of the inbuilt deal making software at partypoker to split the remaining prize pool based on their chip counts and so they could all get to bed earlier than expected.
