The WPTDeepStacks Main Event attracted 1,041 partypoker players to the tables but only nine players remain in contention for the title of champion, an accolade that comes with a cool $171,804 payday. Canada’s Timothy Kelly is the man to catch going into the final day’s action, which you can follow as it happens via the partypoker Twitch channel from 19:30 BST on October 26.
WPTDeepStacks #03 Main Event Final Table

---|---|---|---|
1 | Timothy Kelly | Canada | 100,646,702 |
2 | Jerry Odeen | Sweden | 46,724,570 |
3 | Felix Stephensen | Canada | 23,978,706 |
4 | Joakim Andersson | Malta | 22,337,628 |
5 | Philipp Hofbauer | Austria | 17,084,060 |
6 | Simon Brandstrom | Sweden | 16,202,453 |
7 | Michael Skelnicka | Czech Republic | 13,077,543 |
8 | Thomas Hueber | Austria | 12,942,088 |
9 | Volodymyr Palamar | Ukraine | 7,256,700 |
Kelly has more than $1.5 million in online poker tournament winnings and is the odds on favourite to add the $171,804 top prize of this event to his bankroll. Kelly has 100,646,702 chips in his stack when play resumes, almost 55 million more than his nearest rival. The Canadian is the General Manager of the poker training site Tournament Poker Edge, so it is safe to say he knows his way around a poker table.
Sweden’s Jerry Odeen is the man in second-place at the restart with 46,724,570 chips. Odeen won his way into the $1,100 WPTDeepStacks Main Event via one of our $109 Mega Satellites and is now guaranteed to take home at least $13,953 for his efforts. Going into the final table second in chips means Odeen will likely take home one of the bigger prizes, if not the biggest. Odeen is in hot form having finished second in the Closer event for more than $35,000.
Felix Stephensen currently occupies third place with his 23,978,706 stack. based in Canada but hailing from Norway, Stephensen is best known for his runner-up finish in the 2014 WSOP Main Event that netted him $5,147,911. Stephensen has a high-stakes PLO cash game background, so expect his play to be on the looser side.
Fourth place when the cards are back in the air belongs to Joakim Andersson who has 22,337,628 chips. Andersson crushes high stakes tournaments online, so it is unsurprising to see him deep in this prestigious event. He may have less than a quarter of Kelly’s chips, but if anyone can turn things around and catch Kelly it is Andersson.
The rest of the final table are definitely not there to simply make up the numbers. Philipp Hofbauer (17,084,060) returns with a 28.5 big blind stack so is most definitely still in the running. As is Sweden’s Simon Brandstrom (16,202,453).
Day 1 chip leader Michael Skenicka (13,077,543) of the Czech Republic still has some work to d if he is to close the gap on the leaders, while Thomas Hueber (12,942,088) and Volodymyr Palamar (7,256,700) bring up the rear.
