The third and final starting flight in the partypoker World Poker Tour (WPT) National UK Main Event took place on Friday night and saw 167 entries registered. This figure, when added to the other two fights, takes the total attendance for this £200 buy-on event to a most impressive 510.
Topping the leader board on Flight 3 was Kaushal Davda who turned his 20,000 starting stack into 145,100 – one of six players to end the night with a six-figure stack. Davda’s impressive total is enough to place him ninth overall going into Day 2 and he now has a legitimate chance of getting his hands on a slice of the £91,980 prize pool.
One of Flight 4’s high-flying players was Jonathan Weekes, a regular on the London poker circuit and someone with almost $200,000 in live tournament winnings. Weekes has plenty of experience in high buy-in events and will draw on that experience on the penultimate day’s play.
