It seemed like Jonathan Duhamel was simply going to run over this heat but he lost some chips and just lost a 1,250,000 chip flip to Antonio Esfandiari to bust in fifth.
The action was opened by Esfandiari, the Magician made it 42,000 to go on the button with , Jonathan Duhamel three-bet to 105,000 with
, Esfandiari four-bet to 232,000, Duhamel moved all-in for 609,000 and Esfandiari, who just had Duhamel covered made the call.
“This is a big one Mum,” said Esfandiari. “We need to hold.” The board ran and Esfandiari now has over half the chips in play.
Whilst Duhamel told us, “I wish I could have done better tonight, but 31 points is pretty strong. I’d have liked more points, but I am happy with how I played and that’s good.”
