partypoker and The Gambling Cabin are joining forces in the fight against domestic violence by running a special charity tournament at 19:00 BST on June 10.

The Gambling Cabin has supported several charities over the years and is focussing on domestic violence for its latest campaign. Football fans around Europe are tingling with excitement for the delayed 2020 European Championships, but the Gambling Cabin knows there are many people out there fearing they will endure a tirade of abuse during the Euro 2020 finals.

Domestic violence is expected to increase by between 30-50% during the Euro 2020 finals as many domestic violence victims find themselves isolated with their perpetrators. The Gambling Cabin and partypoker has created a charity tournament called “The Gambling Casino Against Domestic Violence” and you are all invited to support this great cause.

Play Poker For a Great Cause

The bounty tournament shuffles up and deals at 19:00 BST on June 10 and costs $11 to enter. Everyone sits down with 50,000 and plays to a five-minute clock where the blinds start at 250/500/60a. Up to five re-entries are permitted during the first 12-levels and we hope you take full advantage of the re-entry format because The Gambling Cabin pledges to match the total prize pool in the form of a donation to the Melissa Foundation and Kvinna till Kvinna charities.

Furthermore, partypoker is donating $2,500 to the causes.

Should you not be able to play or perhaps wish to help The Gambling Cabin’s fight against domestic violence, there is a Facebook crowdfunding page where you can make a donation. All donations, big or small, are more than welcomed, but a donation of SEK500 or more (approx. €50) sees the Gambling Cabin send you a T-shirt.

The Gambling Cabin is streaming the entire charity tournament on its Twitch channel where Team partypoker’s Louise Butler will make a guest appearance, showing her support for a great cause.

About The Charities

The aim is to raise as much money as possible for the Melissa Foundation and Kvinna till Kvinna charities.

Melissa Foundation is an independent charity founded in May 2002 that provides emergency accommodation to women trying to escape domestic abuse. The charity launched in memory of a Swedish woman named Melissa who was murdered by her partner in November 2001.

Kvinna till Kvinna, which translates to Women to Women, is a charity that defends women’s human rights, and protects women against violence from men.

Both are fantastic charities and fully deserve the support of the poker community. Let’s make poker raise some money for two very worthy causes.
