Team partypoker’s Jason Koon is enjoying the heater of a lifetime in the live poker arena and has now won almost $9 million from poker tournaments during the first five months of 2018.
Koon has won an incredible $8,937,091 so far in 2018 and we are not even halfway through the year, plus there is the 2018 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, and several major partypoker LIVE MILLIONS events, including the Caribbean Poker Party, on the horizon.
Another $2.1 million was added to Koon’s coffers on May 30th thanks to him navigating his way to a third-place finish in the $300,000 buy-in Super High Roller Bowl at ARIA Resort & Casino. Koon has now broken into the top 20 in the all-time money listings where he occupies 17th place with lifetime winnings of $19,727,734.
Joining Koon in the top 20 are fellow Team partypoker members Sam Trickett (14th with $20,840,004), and Fedor Holz (sixth with $26,310,621). Isaac Haxton (21st with $18,364,253) dropped just outside of the top 20 as a result of Koon’s meteoric rise.
Jason Koon’s Incredible 2018 So Far
Koon has been in scintillating form for the past couple of years. He won $2,890,926 in 2016 and upped his game to win $4,297,862 during 2017. Now he looks like having an eight-figure year and winning more than $10 million if he continues in this rich vein of form.
The man from West Virginia kicked off 2018 in style by winning a $25,000 buy-in event in the Bahamas for $421,080. Koon was then the runner-up in the $25,100 US Poker Open in Las Vegas for an additional $269,500 a month later.
March saw Koon finish ninth in a HK$2.1 million buy-on Super High Roller Bowl for the equivalent of US$742,012 before our hero placed fourth in the €101,000 Super High Roller at the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Grand Final in Barcelona for a cool €500,000.
Amazingly, the massive results kept on happening for Koon because in May he enjoyed a $169,936 score in a Short Deck Ante Only Triton Super High Roller in Montenegro before going on to win the Super High Roller there for what was $3,579,836.
Only a week after securing that monster-sized score, Koon chopped a $100,000 High Roller at ARIA Resort & Casino for $1,039,940 before getting his hands on the $2.1 million for this latest third-place finish.
