It was a good day for the Team PartyPoker brothers Jaime and Matt Staples on Sunday with both padding their bankrolls with chunky scores from some of our biggest weekly tournaments. Jaime Staples fell just short of taking down the $1,050 The Grand, while Matt triumphed in the Super $215 and claimed a second-place finish in a 6-Max Hyper!

Jaime Staples Finishes Third in The Grand
Seventy-four players turned out for The Grand this week, and what a talented field of players they were. Any of the nine PartyPoker stars that reached the final table would have made a worthy champion, but only one of them claimed that honour.
Ali Akok ($2,890) did not spend much time under the spotlight because he was the first of the finalists heading for the exits. The likes of Artjoms Visockis ($3,184), Swedish legend Niklas Astedt ($3,483), and Malta-based pro Andrea Radicchi ($4,011) joined Akok on the rail.
The field became shorter with the eliminations of Emil Olsson ($4,912) and Caspar Jensen ($6,382) before our very own Jaime Staples bowed in a respectable third place for $8,684.
With Staples out of the way, the two remaining players cut a deal that flattened the pay jumps and concluded the tournament. Canada’s Matthew Stumpf officially finished second for $15,134, leaving Ioannis Angelou Konstas to collect a $16,017 first-place prize.

Matt Staples Wins the Super $215
Matt Staples was not about to lay around letting his brother take all the glory, so got on the grind himself, with the Super $215 being one tournament he entered. A field of 139 players were left in Staples’ wake as he reeled in a $7,306 score for his impressive victory. However, Staples was not done there, he went on to finish second in a 6-Max Hyper Turbo tournament for an additional $676. We love a little bit of sibling rivalry here at PartyPoker!
RafsCard Wins the $150K Sunday Party
A monster-sized field of 1,499 entrants took to the PartyPoker virtual felt for the $150,000 guaranteed Sunday Party. The prize pool was such that nobody at the final table took home less than $1,864 for their $109 investment, and the top two finishers received payouts of five figures!
Those two players were none other than runner-up “Finta_Gringo_K9,” who fell at the final hurdle. Second-place prize money weighed in at a cool $10,045. However, the champion, “RafsCard,” collected $16,943, and will forever be able to call himself a Sunday Party champion.

tashico Takes Down the Sunday Carnival
The Sunday Carnival smashed through its $50,000 guarantee after 2,593 entrants created a $51,860 prize pool, which is pretty cool considering the Sunday Carnival only costs $22 to enter. The top five finishers saw that $22 investment swell to no less than $1,055 and as much as $4,738!
“Supreme_Leader” ($1,015), “Mr.Anderss0n” ($1,948), and “PsychFox” ($2,189) were the first trio of grinders to bank four-figure prizes. Runner-up “Homesafe” won $3,570 for their efforts, while “tashico” claimed the title of champion and the lion’s share of the prize pool, namely $4,738.
