If you frequented card rooms in the 80s and 90s you will no doubt have bumped into either – or both – Surinder Sunar and Simon Trumper while on your travels. Unlike many before them, both Trumper and Sunar have withstood the test of time and are still formidable opponents.
Ironically, Sunar and Trumper are seated directly next to each other at the far end of the room. Sunar is sporting a yellow and green woollen hat, with matching scarf, while the shaven-headed Trumper is being massaged vigorously by one of the attractive massage girls.
Trumper has over $1,200,000 in live tournament winnings with cashes dating back to 1996. Sunar’s cashes date back to 1987 (on the Hendon Mob) and total more than $4,500,000 and is currently fourth in the all-time money listings for the UK and Ireland.
Sixty-three players remain in the WPT National London Main Event.
