Once again the partypoker $200K Guaranteed Sunday proved to be one of the best, if not THE best, value tournament in the online poker world with the 919 entrants leaving partypoker to make up a mammoth $29,066 shortfall in the guarantee, the equivalent of 156 players buying in and then not showing up to play!
The best value went to those nine players who managed to navigate their way through the field and reach the final table. As always, the final table was an action-packed affair, but one played in the true spirit of poker despite vast sums of money being played for.
Let’s take up the action from the second the grand finale commenced.

LHAA88 opened with a min-raise to 30,000 on the button and mateee responded with an all-in re-raise of 239,696 from the big blind. LHAA88 made the call and turned over , which was way ahead of mateee’s dominated .
Neither player improved their hand on the board, but LHAA88’s queen-kicker beat the ten of mateee and mateee crashed out in ninth place.
Eleven short hands later and cocicoli was eliminated, despite holding the best hand preflop. Korvis raised twice the big blind to 30,000 from early position and the action passed to cocicoli on the button. Looking down at and having only 12 big blinds, an all-in bet was almost mandatory. This is exactly what cocicoli did and Korvis decided to make the call with .
Korvis was a 76/24 underdog preflop and then only had a 17% chance to win on the flop. The on the turn flipped the hand on its head and suddenly it was cocicoli who was massive underdog. A on the river failed to change the hand and cocicoli became the eighth place finisher.
Exactly 20 hands later, gurita777 lost to the hand written in his name to exit in seventh place.
Korvis opened to 40,000 and gurita777 called from the next seat along. The flop fell and Korvis set his opponent in with a pot-sized bet, a bet that was quickly called. Next to head for the sidelines was jonhdinno who lost a coinflip to bust in sixth place. LHAA88 raised to 50,000 from early position and jonhdinno three-bet al-in for 452,786 from the small blind. maqtheknife cold-called the bet from the big blind and LHAA88 ducked out of the way.
The of jonhdinno was racing against the of maqtheknife, a race that it would ultimately lose. By the river the board read and with that jonhdinno busted.
Each of the remaining five players were getting used to being short-handed when five hands later the final table lost another player. With blinds now 12,500/25,000/2,500a, LHAA88 moved all-in from the cutoff for 436,490 with what turned out to be only to see BobNeil130 snap-call with the . The other active players mucked and when the five community cards fell it was game over for LHAA88.
PitschiPopo78 may count himself unfortunate for becoming the fourth place finisher, but he still picked up $7,600 for his valiant effort.
He raised all-in for 301,902 with and was called by Korvis in the small blind who held the less-than-stellar . It was all but over on the flop, with the turn locking up the hand for Korvis. The inconsequential landed on the river and the partypoker $200K Guaranteed Sunday was left with only three players.
Those three became two 28 hands later when Korvis raised to 60,000 in the small blind and then called when BobNeil130 re-raised all-in from the big blind for 587,206. It was versus and when the five community cards ran BobNeil130 busted and heads-up was set.
Only 200,000 chips (seven big blinds) separated Korvis and maqtheknife so it was no surprise that after five hands of one-on-one play the heads-up duo decided to pause the tournament and discuss a deal. Moments later they agreed on an even chop with both players walking away with a cool $22,400 for their efforts.
