Denmark’s Patrick Hyllegaard is a Grand Prix KO champion after he topped a field of 1,105 entrants in the $530 Grand Prix KO 6-Max High Roller. It was an impressive victory, one that came five months after taking down a $320 MILLIONS Online 6-Max Turbo event.

Only 166 players from the 1,105 starters made it through to the final day’s action on July 26. Each of those returnees were in the money from the main prize pool, and all had secured some bounties payments along the way.
Reaching Day 2 but falling short of the seven-handed final table were the likes of Joao Vieira, Team partypoker’s Matthew Staples, Joao Simao, Jeff Gross and Patrick Leonard. Swedish star Robin Ylitalo burst the final table bubble when he dusted off his stack in eighth place.
Vlad Stefan Lache saw his time at the final table limited because the Argentinian was the first out of the door. His initial $530 investment swelled to more than $10,000 thanks to the bounty element of the tournament.
Dutch duo Rui Bouquet and Pedro Olaio fell next before Philipp Muller of Malta crashed and burned in fourth, a finish worth a combined $17,647.
Third place and $37,232 went to Gareth Gardner of the United Kingdom, which set up a one-on-one battle between Viktor Zsemlye and Hyllegaard. The heads-up clash went the way of Hyllegaard and he walked away with the title of champion plus $67,197 in prize money. The runner-up headed into the night with an additional $41,469 in his bankroll.
Fee triumphs in the 6-Max Event; Gardner Reaches Another Final Table
Gregory Fee is the Grand Prix KO #02 6-Max champion, an accoldate that came with a combined prize worth $26,739. Fee got his hands on 11 bounties on his way to victory, resulting in $9,328 being added to his $17,411 first-place prize.
Fee defeated Sweden’s Andreas Johansson heads-up to clinch the title. Johansson, although disappointed to get so far only to fall at the final hurdle, must be pleased with his $19,167 haul, especially as the buy-in for this event was an affordable $55.
A special mention must go to the seventh place finisher, Gareth Gardner. The British star not only managed to outlast the majority of the 6,393-strong crowd in this event, he was the third-place finisher in the $530 6-Max High Roller, too! Top work, sir.

Pennington Secures Mini 6-Max Title
There was a british player at the top of the 6-Max standings and another in the Mini 6-Max event. Victory in the latter belongs to Oliver Pennington.
Pennington had to navigate his way through a field of more than 10,000 entrants, including 1,478 players who made it through to Day 2; that is some grind. The Brit did so with guile and finnese, sending 15 foes to the sidelines on his way to victory.
First-place in this even came with a $2,715 prize, which Pennington added $1,540 worth of bounty payments to for a combined score of $4,255, an incredible return on a mere $5.50 buy-in.
Runner-up Anatoliy Byakhov can be proud of his deep run, especially as he sent 17 players to the showers on his way to second place. Only fourth-place finisher, Roman Shepel, with 22 eliminations, claimed more scalps.

Attention Turns to the Main Events
Our attention turns to the $11 Mini Main Event and the $109 Main Event, which come with $100,000 and $500,000 guaranteed prize pools, now the above trio of big events are out of the way.
Almost 3,300 players have already bought into the Mini Main Event, and 477 have punched their Day 2 tickets. Brazilians are dominating proceedings right now as they make up four of the current top 10 chip counts. Adalto Junior is the overall chipleader courtesy of his 2,967,000 stack.

Sweden’s Jimmy Mattias Larsen is the man to catch right now. The Swedish sensation bagged up 1,934,431 chips at the end of his Day 1, during which time he snaggd $331.25 worth of bounties, meaning he has already tripled his $109 buy-in’s value!
