POWERFEST #53-SHR: $2M Gtd Championship Event PKO NL Hold’em
- Buy-in: $10,300
- Entries: 198
- Prize pool: $2,000,000
- ITM: 32
Team partypoker member and current number one female poker player in the world, according to the Global Poker Index, Kristen “krissyb24” Bicknell boosted her poker bankroll by more than $200,000 on May 15th by finishing second in the POWERFEST #53-SHR: $2M Gtd Championship Event PKO NL Hold’em.
Bicknell was one of 198 players to pony up the $10,300 buy-in in the $2 million guaranteed event. Thirty-two places were paid, with fellow Team partypoker member Roberto “WelshWizard” Romanello busting in 35th place to narrowly miss out on some prize money; Romanello did secure one bounty worth $3,825.
The eight players who reached the final table locked up at least $22,774 for their efforts, plus any bounty payments they had collected along the way. Several of poker’s elite grinders were present at the final table, including Andras “probirs” Nemeth who finished sixth for $41,588 and $33,150 in bounties and Finnish star Sami “LarsLuzak1” Kelopuro who bust in fifth-place for $54,461 and $24,225 from the bounty prize pool.
“Clicker_” fell in third-place and was the first player to bank a six-figure score from the regular prize pool; they took home $104,466 and $57,056 in bounties. This exit left Bicknell and Swedish Goliath Niklas “Drulitooo” Astedt to battle it out for the title.
It was a battle that Bicknell came out of second best, unfortunately, but we’re sure that the $146,549 and $63,510 in bounties will help numb the pain of being the bridesmaid. Astedt banked a massive $201,901 and an additional $228,145 from the bounty prize pool.
