The partypoker MILLIONS Online event promised a $5 million guaranteed, but thanks to a total of 1,027 entries of $5,000+$300 being processed, a guarantee-busting prize pool of $5,135,000 was created.
December 5 saw the final two of four starting flights take place. Day 1c attracted a field of 190 players (49 progressed to Day 2) while the turbo structured Day 1d was almost equally as large with 185 entries (71 progressed to Day 2).
Topping the chip counts on Day 1c was “coco60k” with a 9,716,089 chip stack while the likes of “JohnyK91” (5,718,099), Viktor “Isildur1” Blom (4,389,551), Fabrizio “DrMiKee” Gonzalez (3,122,031) and Marc “sluglife87” Macdonnell navigating their way through to Day 2.
Day 1d ended with “Chris5623” at the top of the chip counts courtesy of him ammassing 7,195,829 chips. Hot on his heels was our very own Anatoly “NL_Profit” Filatov on 5,630,432 and this talented duo were joined in the finale of the MILLIONS Online Main Event by such luminaries as “JHelppi” (4,294,442), Phil “PhilRoyal888” Mighall (3,744,674), Mike “GOLEAFSGOEH” Leah (3,264,493), Charlie “chazcombes” Combes (2,503,767) and Team partypoker players Natalia “N4talB” Breviglieri (1,832,112), and Johnny “JLoHarada” Lodden (1,097,958).
Day 2 shuffled up with 227 players in their seats. Of those who made it through to Day 2, only 104 would receive prize money for their efforts. Anyone min-cashing received $10,270, a final table appearance increased this amount to a more impressive $75,484 and the eventual champion would bank a potentially life changing $1,027,000.
Natalia Breviglieri couldn’t get going and fell in 224th place. Lodden joined her on the rail in 180th place when he three-bet shoved for 10 big blinds with ace-eight and lost to the suited king-four of “crisronaldo2” courtesy of a king on the flop.
It was also a bad day in the office for Roberto “WelshWizard” Romanello, Anatoly “NL_Profit” Filatov, Joao “joaosimao” Simao and Sam “SamTrickett” Trickett as they all bust before the money places.
By the close of play on Day 2, only 25 players remain in the hunt for the $1,027,000 first place prize. Leading the way is “FilthyTrousers” with a colossal stack of 120,361,483 chips. FilthyTrousers is now on course to get his hands on the $1,027,000 top prize only a month after winning the Monster Series $35K Gtd PLO 1R1A for $7,136.
Standing in the way of a FilthyTrousers victory are some talented poker players. “BOOMALOOM_” is no stranger to high stakes tournaments and he returns with a 51,691,728 stack, while Day 1a chip leader “McDIsiLDrOoN” finished the night with 43,115,752 chips. Also still in the hunt are Viktor “Isildur1” Blom (41,614,930), Juha “JHelppi” Helppi (33,229,143) and Rick “tHeClaImEr1” Trigg (21,888,622).
