With the $1,100 MILLIONS Open, the $10,300 MILLIONS High Roller and the $25,500 MILLIONS Super High Roller having crowned their champions, Day 6 of the partypoker Caribbean Poker Party concentrated on progressing the $5,300 MILLIONS Main Event.

Some 521 players sat down at the start of Day 2, some of those had taken full advantage of the late registration period and bought in either for the first time or took another bite at the $5 million guaranteed cherry. In all, the total attendance for the MILLIONS Main Event stands at 1,061, which means the guarantee was surpassed.

Seven levels were played on Day 2 and during this time the field was whittled to 222 players. Exactly half of these grinders will receive prize money as 111 spots are paid, a min-cash weighing in at $10,000 and the eventual champion winning a cool $1 million.

Leading the way going into Day 3 is the tournament’s reigning champion Troy Quenneville. Almost a year ago to the day, Quenneville topped a 526-strong field in the then $2,500 Main Event at the 2016 Caribbean Poker Party and returned to his native Canada with $400,000.

Quenneville bagged up 19,060,000 chips at the close of play and is joined at the top of the leaderboard by Spain’s Diego Gomez (15,800,000), Columbia’s Roberto Vahlis (15,335,00) and fellow Canadian Kevin Rivest (14,745,000).

Charlie Godwin

Several members of Team partypoker also secured their seat for Day 3, including our partypoker Ladies Projects and Events manager Charlie Godwin who amassed 8,200,000 chips. This impressive stack places Godwin ahead of Padraig Parkinson (7,915,000), Richard Dubini (7,225,000), Jason Koon (6,270,000), Joao Simao (4,965,000), partypoker Chairman Mike Sexton (4,635,000), Jan-Peter Jachtmann (2,775,000), Roberto Romanello (2,100,000), and Johnny Lodden (1,970,000).

Godwin, who is a keen poker player when she’s not working her magic at the partypoker offices, starts Day 3 on Table 33 and will have to contend with the likes of Erik Peters, Philipp Gruissem, Dylan Wilkerson, Seth Davies and Michael Linster. Here’s hoping Lady Luck shines down on Godwin today, and on all of our other Team partypoker members and qualifiers, too.

Also still in the hunt for the $1 million prize are such luminaries as Andrey Pateychuk, Stephen Chidwick, Niall Farrell, Steve O’Dwyer, Ari Engel, Steffen Sontheimer, Mustapha Kanit, Antoine Saout, Tom Middleton, Sam Greenwood, three-time WSOP bracelet winner Adrian Mateos, Maria Ho and Benjamin Pollak.

Play resumes at noon local time and we should experience the excitement of the bubble bursting. How many Team partypoker players will still be in the mix then? Tune into the partypoker blog on November 24 to find out, and don’t forget to follow the live updates from the PokerNews Live Reporting team.
