The 2022 Irish Open is only weeks away and many of you have been busy grinding the satellites into the €1,150 buy-in Main Event, the first live Irish Open since 2019. Guinness Storehouse
The Guinness Storehouse is found at St. James’s Gate Brewery and it is a must-see attraction even if you are not a fan of Guinness. The Storehouse covers seven floors and explains the history of this iconic beer through interactive exhibition areas.
You’ll discover the entire process of producing the perfect pint of Guinness, from brewing, to storage, and transport. Expert bar staff teach you how to pull the perfect pint of Guinness (it takes 119 seconds), before heading to the top floor which is a bar overlooking the city of Dublin where you can enjoy a complementary pint of the black stuff.
Jameson Distillery Bow Street
In addition to being famous for Guinness, Dublin is the home of Jameson whiskey, and you can head to the Jameson Distillery Bow Street which is the original site where Jameson Irish Whiskey was distilled until 1971.
Like the Guinness tour, you’ll discover the history behind this iconic whiskey and discover why, when the distillery first opened, locals described it as a “city within a city.”
It is fascinating place, especially when you consider the distillery first opened all the way back in 1780.
Dublin Zoo
Dublin Zoo is one of Dublin’s most popular tourist attractions; who doesn’t love to see exotic animals roaming around? The zoo opened its doors to the animal-loving public on September 1, 1831, some 190 years ago, making it one of the oldest zoos anywhere on Earth.
The zoo spreads over 69 acres of Phoenix and is divided up into several areas, each housing some of the world’s endangered species.

Temple Bar
Head to the Temple Bar area of the city as the sun goes down if you want to experience the world famous Irish craic. The area’s nightlife is incredible, with the streets packed with revellers all singing and dancing the night away.
It is the home to the world famous The Temple Bar, a bar steeped with history and featuring traditional live Irish music until the early hours of the morning. Be warned, this place gets packed out.
Temple Bar is also where you can find the Irish Photography Centre, the Irish Film Institute, in addition to the Irish Stock Exchange. Temple Bar is not only about partying even if you do find plenty of that going on!
Croke Park
Sports fans could must worse then paying Croke Park a visit and enjoying a stadium tour. Croke Park is a Gaelic games stadium, which serves as the principal national stadium of Ireland and the headquarters of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA).
The 82,300 capacity stadium has some some epic encounters over the years, in addition to concerts from iconic bands.
You can book a tour of the stadium where tour guides will have you hanging off their every word. The tour finishes with a visit to the GAA Museum, which helps immerse you in the culture and spirt of Dublin; Dubliners certainly love their sport.
2022 Irish Open Schedule
As you can see from the table below, you have the chance to play non-stop poker from April 11 through April 18, so you may not get the chance to visit any of the attractions we just blogged about!
You will be pleased to know that all COVID-19 restrictions on indoor hospitality and entertainment venues in Ireland are now lifted, meaning face masks are no longer legally required. However, feel free to wear a mask if you wish.
In addition, those travelling to Ireland no longer need to complete a Passenger Locator form, nor do they need to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or recovery to gain entry to the country.
