It was business as usual for the WPT Online Series on May 14 with massive prizes awarded to some of the game’s elite players. Poland’s Wiktor Malinowski got his hands on the biggest prize of the day, let’s check out what he won and how.

WPT #29 – High Roller: $1M Gtd

A field of 115-players competed in the latest $10,300 High Roller event and created a guarantee-busting $1,150,000 prize pool. Only the top 16 finishers banked a slice of this money, so spare a thought for Kristen Bicknell who fell in 19th place and narrowly missed out on yet another cash.

While Bicknell’s was a close call, Ludovic Geilich earned himself the unwanted title of bubble boy, crashing out in 17th place. Geilich’s exit locked up no less than $23,000 for the surviving players. The likes of Viktor Blom, Dan Smith, Joao Vieira and Mark Radoja securing payouts.

UK-based Spaniard Juan Pardo fell in ninth for $28,750 and the final table was set.

Benjamin Rolle, a recent guest on Jaime Staples’ Weekly Poker Showdown, was the first finalist to fall. Russian sensation Artur Martirosian was the next casualty before Giuseppe Iadisernia busted in sixth place.

Next to fall were a pair of flying Finns. Elias Talvitie ran out of steam in fifth-place with fellow countryman Samuel Vousden banking $100,625 for his fourth-place demise, which was the first six-figure prize of the evening.

Pascal Lefrancois put together yet another deep run but had to ultimately make do with the $143,750 third-place prize. The French-Canadian’s exit set up an enticing heads-up clash between Nick Petrangelo and Wiktor Malinowski. The latter got the better of his opponent and collected the $281,750 top prize. Petrangelo scooped $201,250 for this runner-up finish.

WPT #28 – 6-Max: $300K Gtd

The $1,050 buy-in 6-Max event was another tournament that saw it’s guarantee blown out of the water when 401 players piled in and created a $401,000 pot.

Team partypoker’s Josip Simunic cashed in the event, as did such luminaries as Anton Wigg, Ben Jones, Romain Lewis, and Thomas Muehloecker.

Sylvia Hewitt, a regular at Dusk Till Dawn, burst the final table bubble in seventh-place. Hewitt can count herself unlucky as she ran a set of sixes into a set of aces, ouch.

Ivan Deyra collected the first five-figure prize of the tournament, namely $15,238 before Laszlo Molnar fell by the wayside in fifth for $22,055. Fourth-place and $30,387 went to Alexandru Papazian, the Romanian is an incredible player who seems to go deep in tournaments when it matters.

Steven Van Zadelhoff crashed in third for $43,107 which left Fausto Tantillo and Gustavo Mastelotto to fight it out one-on-one for the title. Tantillo fell at the final hurdle and had to console himself with $59,348, leaving Mastelotto of Brazil to pad his bankroll with $80,200.

WPT #32 – Super High Roller: $2M Gtd

The $25,500 Super High Roller attracted 87 players and those starters have been whittled down to the final table of eight.

Juan Pardo leads them back into battle from 20:00 CET on May 15 and is in pole position for the monster-sized $565,500 top prize. Each of the finalists will win at least $76,125 with the top six finishers banking more than $100,000.

It should be a cracking finale, return to the partypoker blog on May 16 to discover which player took home the Super High Roller title.
