The next Canada Day is on July 1 but it appears it came early because Canadians dominated proceedings in the High Roller Club events on June 11.

Timothy Adams and Mark Radoja each won events, while several other Canadian stars navigated their way to final tables. Here are the highlights of the day’s action.

High Roller Club: Main Event $500K Gtd

Fifty-eight players turned out for the Main Event on June 11, each paying $10,300 for one million chips and a shot at glory. Those entrants resulted in a $580,000 prize pool being created, which was shared among the final eight players.

Each of those finalists won more than $21,000. Rok Gostisa was defeated in eighth-place and netted $21,750. Russia’s Vyachelsav Buldygin and Canada’s Daniel Dvoress were the next casualties, the latter getting his hands on $33,350.

Aleksejs Ponakovs, who hails from Estonia, turned his $10,300 into $42,050 with a fifth-place finish before Preben Stokkan secured the $53,650 fourth-place prize.

George Wolff’s third-place exit yielded an $85,550 prize and left Timothy Adams and Dan Smith as the last players in the event. The two Goliaths struck a deal that saw Smith finish in second-place and win $146,503 and Adams add the $169,596 top prize to his partypoker account.

High Roller Club: 6-Max 2nd Chance $150K Gtd

Mark Radoja was another Canadian who locked up a six-figure prize, doing so after winning the $5,200 6-Max 2nd Chance. Radoja topped a star-studded field of 54-entrants to bank a cool $108,000.

The six-handed final table was ridiculously stacked. Current leaderboard leader Luke Reeves finished sixth with Sergi Reixach running out of luck in fifth-place. The waters grew less shark-infested when Nick Schulman dusted off his stack before Swedish legend Niklas Astedt saw his tournament end abruptly in third-place for $35,100.

Heads-up pitted Radoja against Artur Martirosian, the Russian enjoying a purple patch of form right now. His run good didn’t extend to victory this time around. Martirosian had to make do with a $69,105 prize.

There was almost a Canadian champion in the Mix-max Knockout but Giusepppe Iadisernia spoiled the party by defeating Alex Foxen heads-up. OK, Foxen is American but he’s playing at partypoker from Canada!

Iadisernia walked away with $35,927 with bounties included, leaving Foxen to net a second-place prize worth a combined $23,321.

Before this heads-up battle, Artur Martirosian reached another final table but his stay there was short-lived as he busted in sixth-place. Rok Gostisa and Preben Stokkan joined the Russian on the rail before Viktor Blom crashed out in third-place.
