Robin Fisher Eliminated in 3rd Place (£34,000)

We are heads up here in the World Poker Tour National London Main Event after Robin Fisher was just eliminated.

Fisher lost a large percentage of his stack when he bet 125,000 when Reece Lewis checked to him on a 7♣ 5♥ 10♠ K♦ board. Lewis called and the dealer put out the J♣ river. Lewis checked again, with his 6♣ 5♣ and Fisher looked set to shove his 10-12 big blinds in but couldn’t pull the trigger with his A♠ 3♥. Lewis won the pot.

A couple of hands later Elior Sion opened to 80,000 then called when Fisher shoved for 465,000 with 10♣ 6♣. Sion turned over 3♠ 3♣ and hen the board ran out J♣ 10♠ A♦ J♠ A♠ the duo split the pot!

Fisher’s exit hand saw Sion open the betting, Lewis flat-call and Fisher squeeze all-in. Sion folded but Lewis called.

Fisher: Q♠ 9♠
Lewis: K♠ 7♠

The 2♣ 6♦ A♠ 2♥ 7♠ board sealed Fisher’s fate and we are heads-up in this superb tournament. Chip counts to follow.
