Jouhkimainen and Lefrancois Land Poker Masters Titles

Team partypoker’s Joni Jouhkimainen became a Poker Masters champion on April 15 and was joined in the winner’s circle by Pascal Lefrancois, a former champion of the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Grand Final!

Poker Masters #08: $500K Gtd NLHE 8-Max

Poker Masters #08: $500K Gtd NLHE 8-Max attracted a field of 104 entrants who created a $1,040,000 prize pool. The top 16 finishers won a slice of the seven-figure prize pool, a min-cash weighing in at $20,800.

The likes of Mike Watson, Sami Kelopuro, Benjamin Rolle and Chris Hunichen were among those who cashed. Huncihen burst the final table bubble and banked $26,000.

2019 WSOP Main Event runner-up Dario Sammartino was the final table’s first casualty. That finish netted the popular Italian $33,800. Alex Foxen then busted in seventh for $41,600 before Timothy Adams crashed out and collected $52,000.

UK-based Spaniard Juan Pardo saw his tournament end in fifth-place for $67,600. He was joined by recent Poker Masters winner Elias Talvitie of Finland who scooped another $91,000.

Another UK-based Spanish superstar, Sergi Rexiach, crashed out in third and secured a $130,000 payday. His exit set up a one-on-one battle between Andras Nemeth and our very own Joni Jouhkimainen.

The Team partypoker pro sent Nemeth to the rail in second-place to secure the massive $254,800 top prize. Nemeth collected $182,000. It’s been a superb week for Nemeth who was the runner-up in the Irish Open Main Event and won a Poker Masters events for scores of €325,423 and $259,628 respectively.

Poker Masters #09: $500K Gtd NLHE 6-Max

We almost had a partypoker one-two to shout about because Kristen Bicknell navigated her way to the final table of the Poker Masters #09: $500K Gtd NLHE 6-Max while Jouhkimainen was on his way to victory in Event #08.

It wasn’t meant to be, however, and Bicknell picked up the $93,600 third-place prize. Bicknell had already outlasted the likes of Dario Sammartino, Andras Nemeth and Fedor Holz at the final table, but ran out of steam at the end.

Bicknell’s exit set up an enticing clash between Justin Bonomo and Pascal Lefrancois. Bonomo tends to crush when he makes it to heads-up but Lefrancois is no pushover either. It was Lefrancois who emerged from the one-on-one battle victoriously and scooped $243,988. Bonomo headed off into the night with an additional $152,100 in his bankroll.
