We’re into Week 8 of the massive WPT World Online Championships and the race to be crowned Player of the Championship and the series’ Rising Star is growing more exciting by the day.

Both leaderboards are starting to look a little like they will do when the WPTWOC concludes, but there’s still plenty of time to rock the boat and climb up either of the two leaderboards.

WPTWOC Player of the Championship

British pro Scott Margereson is the man to catch in the Player of the Championship standings and he’s on course to collect a cool $50,000. Margereson is yet to win big in any of the Championship Events, but he’s been excelling in the side events, hence his lofty position.

Team partypoker members currently occupy second and third-place. Kristen Bicknell was knocked off top spot by Margereson recently, but she’s still less than 13 points behind. Second-place in this leaderboard weighs in at $10,000.

Roberto Romanello finds himself in third-place and looking likely for a $5,000 addition to his bankroll. Romanello is only 18 points behind Bicknell in second-place so anything can happen between now and the end of the WPTWOC.

Should any members of Team partypoker win a prize from any of our leaderboards, their prize will be up for grabs in the form of a special freeroll bearing their name. At the time of writing, this equates to $15,000 worth of freerolls being played for by you and your fellow partypoker grinders.

Don’t write off the likes of Lars Kamphues, Russian high stakes guru Artur Martirosian, or Dimitar Danchev, among others. With Day 1B of the Mini Main Event starting on September 6 and the massive $10 million guaranteed Main Event the week after, there are points galore up for grabs.

WPTWOC Rising Star

The Rising Star leaderboard is just as closely fought as the Player of the Series with only a handful of points separating the current leaders.

Andreas Ojeda finds himself in first place with 216.50 points, but Luiz Constantino is hot on his heels with 212.14 points. Constantino soared into second-place on the back of his impressive victory in the $109 Micro Main Event, which also netted the Brazilian almost $150,000.

Literally anyone could win the $10,000 top prize in this race. Less than 50 points separate first from 10th and one big score in a tournament with a buy-in of less than $320 could completely alter the standings.
