The 2021 WPTWOC Mini and Micro Main Events’ final days were in full swing while Rok Gostisa was becoming the Main Event champion. Barry Hutter triumphed in the $1,050 Mini Main Event with Kristian Karlsson collecting the top prize in the $109 Micro Main Event.

Hutter came out on top of a tough final table that would not have looked out of place in a tournament with a buy-in five or ten-times the size.

The waters grew less shark-infested when Joao Ferreira and Alexandros Theologis headed for the exits, doing so with $20,035 and $25,584 payouts. Hungarian grinder Laszlo Molnar came unstuck in seventh, a finish worth $32,347 before Anton Wigg busted in sixth for $41,418.

Reigning MILLIONS Online Omaha High Roller champion Dante Fernandes was the next head to roll. The talented Brazilian crashed out in fifth and padded his bankroll with an impressive $54,001.

Fourth-place and $79,194 went to Austria’s Andrej Tekkel before the elimination of David Farkas sent the tournament into the heads-up stage; Farkas’ third-place exit came with a $120,551 payday.

Hutter locked horns with Joris Ruys of the Netherlands in a one-on-one battle. Neither player opted to make a deal despite an $81,322 difference between first and second place. The lack of a deal meant Ruys got his hands on $176,101 when he fell at the final hurdle, while Hutter gets to call himself a WPTWOC champion, and his hands on $257,423 in cold, hard cash.

Karlsson Clinches Micro Main Event Title

The $109 Micro Main Event concluded with Sweden’s Kristian Karlsson holding all the chip in play. Karlsson not only gets to call himself a WPTWOC champion for a full year, but he also has an additional $45,433 in his bankroll.

Karlsson banked this impressive sum after defeating Giorgi Barabadze heads-up, resigning the Georgian to the $39,782 runner-up prize.

Earlier at the final table, Mikael Koistinen and Philip Almond saw their tournaments end abruptly. Timothy Cavallin and Gabriel Rauber Missel followed them to the rail, the latter walking away with $7,828 for his efforts.

The surviving players were now guaranteed a five-figure score. Aleksei Kuzmenkov was the first partypoker player to lock in a five-figure sum, namely $10,521, when he busted in fifth place.

Alexandros Theologis, who finished eighth in the $1,050 Mini Main Event, saw his run in the $109 Micro Main Event end in a fourth-place finish worth $15,508. Nikolay Tabardak headed for the exits in third, worth $24,438, leaving Karlsson and Barbadze heads-up, and we already know how that played out.
