Team partypoker\u2019s Dzmitry Urbanovich<\/strong> narrowly missed out on becoming a WPTWOC event winner when he finished second in the $1 million guaranteed WPT Big Game<\/strong>. Urabnovich fell at the final hurdle yet still managed to pad his bankroll with a massive $146,050 prize.<\/p>\n

The top 32 finishers received a slice of the $1 million prize pool and it was one of our own who burst the money bubble. Kristen Bicknell<\/strong> saw her tournament end in 33rd place, meaning she went home empty-handed.<\/p>\n

Bicknell\u2019s demise opened the floodgates to the cashier, with the likes of Team partypoker\u2019s Patrick Leonard<\/strong><\/a> (27th – $10,400), Christian Rudolph<\/strong> (25th – $10,400), Alex Foxen<\/strong> (23rd – $12,500), Ali Imsirovic<\/strong> (15th – $14,800), New Zealand\u2019s female star Sosia Jiang<\/strong><\/a> (13th – $14,800), and the legendary Justin Bonomo<\/strong> (9th – $20,800) seeing a return on their $5,200 investment.<\/p>\n

Irish grinder Mark Davies<\/strong> was the first of the eight finalists to dust off his stack. Zachary Clark<\/strong>, Alexandru Papazian<\/strong>, and the United Kingdom\u2019s Luke Reeves<\/strong> followed Davies to the sidelines.<\/p>\n

Canada\u2019s Francois Billard<\/strong> fell in fourth and won $78,000, the last prize not to weigh in at six-figures.<\/p>\n

Any of the final trio would have made a worthy champion but tournament poker dictates only one person can finish on top. Mike Watson<\/strong><\/a> was ousted in third and collected $104,200, which set up a final clash between Barry Hutter<\/strong> and Urbanovich. Hutter got the job done and claimed the $200,650 top prize, leaving Urbanovich to pad his bankroll with $146,050.<\/p>\n

Urbanovich has another chance of a huge WPT score as he\u2019s reached the final 24 players in the $10 million guaranteed WPT Main Event<\/strong><\/a>. He returns in the middle of the pack, his 5,951,864 chips enough for 12th place at the restart.<\/p>\n

Alexandru Papazian<\/strong> made up for finishing sixth in the $5,200 WPT Big Game by taking down the $530 Mini edition<\/strong>. Papazian\u2019s victory saw him add $55,222 to the $42,000 he won from the larger buy-in edition also held on September 14.<\/p>\n

The UK-based Romanian defeated Manfred Hermann<\/strong> of Austria heads-up, resigning the Austrian to a $39,331 consolation prize.<\/p>\n

Earlier at the final table, Fabio Luongo<\/strong> and Javier Gomez Zapatero<\/strong> fell by the wayside in eighth and seventh place respectively. The first of two British stars in Declan McManus<\/strong> followed suit; he won $9,540.<\/p>\n

James Atkin<\/strong> may not be as prolific as he once was when it comes to logging volume at the tables, but he\u2019s still got the skills to pay the bills as is evident by his fifth-place finish and $13,200 score.<\/p>\n

Brazilian Luigi Soncin<\/strong> crashed and burned in third for $18,750 before Germany\u2019s Paul Hofer<\/strong> busted in third for $26,811. This left Papazian and Hermann heads-up and you already know how that panned out.<\/p>\n
