New Zealand\u2019s Sosia Jiang<\/strong> put in an exceptional performance in the $5,200 WPT Big Game<\/strong>, one that saw her become the tournament\u2019s champion and secure a massive $206,110 first-place prize.<\/p>\n

All eyes were on Team partypoker duo Ludovic Geilich<\/strong><\/a> and Patrick Leonard<\/strong><\/a> as the final table got underway but it was Jiang who stole the show. She practically led from start to finish and was most certainly a worthy winner.<\/p>\n

Canada\u2019s Allan Berger<\/strong> was the final table\u2019s first casualty. Eighth-place in this event saw Berger walk away with $25,680 for his efforts. Then came the demise of Geilich in seventh. Everyone\u2019s favourite Scotsman (sorry Niall Farrell), didn\u2019t quite get going under the spotlight and had to make do with a $33,384 consolation prize.<\/p>\n

Sixth place and $43,143 went to Adam Boyd<\/strong> of Canada before Daniel Martinez ran out of steam and had settle for a still substantial $56,496 score.<\/p>\n

The final four became three when Ivan Gabrieli<\/strong> busted from his Maltese home. Fourth-place weighed in at $80,122, the last finishing place not to award a six-figure prize. The first of these hefty scores went to Leonard who exited in third for a $107,035 addition to his bankroll.<\/p>\n

This left Austrian Philipp Hofbauer<\/strong> and Jiang to play one-on-one for the title. No deal was struck despite a $56,000 difference between first and second place. This meant Hofbauer banked $150,024 when he lost the heads-up battle with Jiang, and Jiang scooped $206,110.<\/p>\n

The $206,110 Jiang won is one of her largest-ever scores. The talented Kiwi netted $201,600 ($245,345) in a \u00a3100,000 Triton London Main Event<\/strong><\/a> in August 2019. She also reeled in the equivalent of $498,073 from a high stakes event in Macau back in April 2017. Look out for Jiang during the remainder of the WPT World Online Championships because she has plenty more in the tanks.<\/p>\n
