The sixth Championship Event of the 2020 WPT World Online Championships<\/strong><\/a> has reached its final table and only seven players remain in contention for the $488,508 top prize and a place in the exclusive Champions Club.<\/p>\n

Some 989 players took to the felt over the course of two starting flights and 144 of those made it through to Day 2, which took place on August 24. Twelve of those returnees went home empty-handed as 132 places were paid.<\/p>\n

Team partypoker\u2019s Philipp Gruissem<\/strong><\/a>, Louise Butler<\/strong><\/a>, and Anatoly Filatov<\/strong><\/a> were among those unfortunate players to head to the exits empty-handed.<\/p>\n

Yago Simplicio Dos Santos<\/strong> finished in 133rd to burst the bubble. His exit paved the way for such luminaires as Matas Cimbolas<\/strong>, Kahle Burns<\/strong>, Jean-Pascal Savard<\/strong>, and Mario Ho<\/strong> to cash. Steve O\u2019Dwyer<\/strong>, Dan Smith<\/strong>, Sam Grafton<\/strong>, Timothy Adams<\/strong>, and Benjamin Chalot<\/strong><\/a>, the reigning MILLIONS Online<\/strong> champion, also banked some prize money.<\/p>\n

Our very own Mikita Badziakouski<\/strong><\/a> managed to navigate his way to the final two tables but ultimately fell in 11th for $37,500. Liv Boeree<\/strong>\u2019s dream of completing the Triple Crown is postponed for now after she busted in 10th, also for $37,500.<\/p>\n

Oleg Vasylchenko<\/p><\/div>\n

Oleg Vasylchenko<\/strong> is the chip leader going into the seven-handed final table, which is being streamed on Twitch from 21:00 CET on August 25. Vasylchenko\u2019s surname may not be familiar to you but his well-known online alias of \u201cFukuruku\u201d<\/strong> probably will be.<\/p>\n

The Ukrainian star is one of the most feared and respected tournament players of his generation. He\u2019s won millions of dollars in online poker\u2019s biggest, most prestigious events and is looking for what would be his second WPT title as he won WPT Prague<\/strong> back in December 2016.<\/p>\n

Jerry Wong<\/p><\/div>\n

Jerry Wong<\/strong> sits back down at the final table second in chips and with a legitimate chance of WPT glory. Born in New York but living in Florida, Wong has flown out to Canada in order to compete in the $100 million guaranteed WPT World Online Championships. Wong has six live scores of at least six figures, including a $1,100,076 prize for his eighth-place finish in the 2016 WSOP Main Event. With $4,159,351 in live MTT winnings, Wong is one of the biggest winners at the final table.<\/p>\n

Sven Joakim Andersson<\/p><\/div>\n

Sweden\u2019s Sven Joakim Andersson<\/strong> has 14,587,094 chips at the restart, enough for third place when the cards are back in the air. Like many Swedish players, Andersson likes to fly under the radar in the online poker world. He\u2019s enjoyed more than $200,000 worth of cashes in the live arena and could be this final table\u2019s dark horse as he\u2019s a relatively unknown quantity. Underestimate him at your peril fellow final tablers!<\/p>\n

Maciel Gasior<\/strong> is looking to follow in Daniel Smyth<\/strong>\u2019s footsteps and turn a satellite victory into a massive score and a WPT title. He won a $3,200 ticket to Day 1A via a $320 satellite<\/strong> and finished Day 1A in fourth place with 1,502,341 chips. He\u2019s managed to turn that stack into 13,509,318 and has locked up $69,300 but is only six eliminations away from glory.<\/p>\n

Andrey Kotelnikov<\/p><\/div>\n

Andrey Kotelnikov<\/strong> of Russia came super close to winning a WPT title in his native Russia in January 2020 when he fell in third-place in the WPT Opener event in Sochi<\/strong>. Kotelnikov cashed for $41,400 that day. He\u2019s already tasted success in a partypoker event having won the $3,300 High Roller at MILLIONS Sochi<\/strong> in March 2017 for $45,815. Kotelnikov needs fifth-place or better to beat his previous best score.<\/p>\n

Dimitar Danchev<\/p><\/div>\n

Dimitar Danchev<\/strong> needs no introduction as the Bulgarian is extremely well known around the poker world. Danchev tops the Bulgarian all-time money listings courtesy of almost $4.7 million in winnings. Despite his massive success, Danchev has only one cash in WPT events, that coming during this online series. Danchev would like to be sitting down behind more chips than the 11,846,814 that he has in his arsenal, but don\u2019t write off the Bulgarian.<\/p>\n

Bringing up the rear, but definitely not only here to make up the numbers, is the United Kingdom\u2019s Stuart Guite<\/strong>. The man from Lancashire, United Kingdom is predominately an online poker tournament grinder, one with more than $2.1 million in earnings over the years. He\u2019s already guaranteed to beat his best score of $52,679 but needs a little bit of luck if he\u2019s to get his hands on his first six-figure prize.<\/p>\n
