Kamphues ran hot and played great, which is a deadly combination for a poker player, to become the latest WPT World Online Championships winner.<\/p>\n<p>The final day started with 45 players in the hunt for the title but the field was soon whittled down.<\/p>\n<p>Our Twitch Team member <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/en\/p\/team-partypoker\/hristivoje-pavlovic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Hristivoje Pavlovic<\/strong><\/a> was one of the early casualties. Such stars as <strong>Marvin Rettenmaier<\/strong>, Team partypoker\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/en\/p\/team-partypoker\/nikita-bodyakovskiy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Mikita Badziakouski<\/strong><\/a>, <strong>Joao Vieira<\/strong> and <strong>David Kitai<\/strong> joined him on the rail.<\/p>\n<p>Recent addition to the Triple Crown club, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/en\/p\/team-partypoker\/roberto-romanello\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Roberto Romanello<\/strong><\/a>, fell in 24th place. <strong>Liv Boeree<\/strong> lost her stack in 22nd place and immediately pledged 20% of the $4,638 cash to the 1 Day Sooner charity, a fantastic gesture.<\/p>\n<p>Former snooker champion <strong>Mark Williams<\/strong> busted in 18th before <strong>Manig Loeser<\/strong>, who started the day second in chips, crashed out in 14th.<\/p>\n<p>Start of the day chip leader, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/tomi-brouk-shines-brightest-on-day-1-of-the-wpt-shooting-stars.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Tomi Brouk<\/strong><\/a>, saw his tournament end abruptly in ninth-place. The Finn three-bet all-in for a shade under 13 big blinds with <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/ks.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/jh.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> after <strong>Eugenio Peralta<\/strong> had opened with <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/qc.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/qh.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\">. Peralta called, his queens held, and Brouk was no more.<\/p>\n<p>You need quite a lot of luck to win a poker tournament and Kamphues\u2019 luck was in during a hand with Team partypoker\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/en\/p\/team-partypoker\/sam-trickett\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Sam Trickett<\/strong><\/a>. The blinds were 100,000\/200,000\/25,000a and Trickett opened to 400,000 with <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/ad.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/kd.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\">. The action folded to Kamphues in the cutoff who held <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/as.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/kc.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> and he three-bet all-in for 2,391,543. Trickett called and watched on in horror as the board ran <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/4s.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/2s.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/7s.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/jc.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/6s.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> to gift Kamphues an unlikely flush and a much needed double.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jr66gvx5Erc\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Kamphues never looked back and put his foot firmly on the gas. He won a huge coinflip with <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/qs.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/qd.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> versus the <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/ad.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/ks.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> of <strong>Sergey Konovalov<\/strong> to become the tournament\u2019s chip leader. The hand decimated Konovalov\u2019s stack and he busted shortly afterwards.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vbniuAVCAxA\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>He then started wielding his big stack likes a crazed berserker and Trickett fell victim to Kamphues\u2019 run-good. He opened shoved for 71 big blinds (20 big blinds effective) with <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/kd.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/4c.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> and Trickett called in the big blind with <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/ah.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/tc.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\">. Trickett was ahead, but not for long, because Kamphues flopped two pair. Trickett\u2019s sixth place yielded $15,843.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/U2LUE42ot5Y\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The run good continued when Kamphues open-shoved with <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/jd.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/tc.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> and <strong>Klas Lofberg<\/strong> called off his 19 big blind stack on the button with <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/ah.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/as.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\">. A ten on the flop and a jack on the turn sent Lofberg to the rail and gave Kamphues 35,915,790 of the 43,800,000 chips in play!<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/MVLgvJDwN5s\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Unsurprisingly, Kamphues went on to win. He sent Peralta home in fourth when Peralta jammed his short stack into the middle with <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/jc.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/ts.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> and Kamphues woke up with <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/as.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/ks.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> in the small blind.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Matas Cimbolas<\/strong> was Kamphues\u2019 next victim. Kamphues set Cimbolas all-in for his last 10 blinds with <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/5c.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/5s.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> and Cimbolas called with <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/4h.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/4d.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\">. Kamphues flopped a set (of course he did) to send the tournament heads-up.<\/p>\n<p>The final hand was indicative of Kamphues\u2019 sun running. <strong>Nikita Kupchin<\/strong> initially limped on the button with <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/ts.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/td.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> before calling off his last 10 big blind when Kamphues jammed with <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/ah.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/6h.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\">.
