{"id":86196,"date":"2020-05-28T11:22:41","date_gmt":"2020-05-28T11:22:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog?p=86196"},"modified":"2020-05-28T11:22:41","modified_gmt":"2020-05-28T11:22:41","slug":"jareth-east-wins-wptdeepstacks-for-a-massive-557k","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/jareth-east-wins-wptdeepstacks-for-a-massive-557k.html","title":{"rendered":"Jareth East Wins WPTDeepStacks For a Massive $557K"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Jareth East<\/strong> secured the largest score of his career so far when he became the <strong>WPT Online Series WPTDeepStacks<\/strong> champion on May 28.<\/p>\n<p>It took three days of intense poker action to reduce the 3,554-strong field to the last man standing and that man was British star East.<\/p>\n<h2>WPT #40 \u2013 WPTDeepStacks: $3M Gtd<\/h2>\n<p>Eighteen players returned to the tables for the final day\u2019s action, two Team partypoker players among them. Sadly, neither reached the final table. <strong>Ludovic Geilich<\/strong> busted in 12th for $27,259 and <strong>Joni Jouhkimainen<\/strong> finished 11th for the same prize. Geilich, of course, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/ludovic-geilich-becomes-a-shrb-champion.html\">went on to win a Super High Roller Bowl title<\/a> later that evening.<\/p>\n<p>Everyone at the eight-handed final table locked up $35,113 but with almost $560,000 awaiting the champion, nobody wanted that sum.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sergi Denisov<\/strong> collected the smaller, yet still substantial prize, when his tournament ended in eighth-place. Seventh-place and $55,87 went to <strong>Mihail Zavoloka<\/strong> before Lithuania\u2019s <strong>Rimantas Boguzas<\/strong> busted in sixth for $79,431.<\/p>\n<p>The first six-figure prize went to <strong>Phil Mighall<\/strong>, namely $116,215. Mighall started the final day second in chips and while he\u2019ll be disappointed not to win, his prize money will help numb the pain.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Maksim Bukreev<\/strong>, the start of the day chip leader, fell in fourth for $167,748 with <strong>Dimitrios Farmakoulis<\/strong> crashing out in third for $253,755. His exit left East and <strong>Jon Van Fleet<\/strong>, the former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/jon-van-fleet-wins-5-million-guaranteed-millions-online-event.html\">MILLIONS Online champion<\/a>, to clash one-on-one for the title.<\/p>\n<p>The difference in the payouts was a colossal $164,941 but no deal was struck and the two star battled it out.<\/p>\n<p>The final hand saw East limp on the button for 1,200,000 and Van Fleet check. A <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/9s.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/6s.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/jh.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> flop saw Van Fleet check, East lead for 1,200,000 and Van Fleet respond with a check-raise to 3,000,000. East put a raise in of his own to 5,400,000 which resulted in an 18,737,200 jam from Van Fleet. East called.<\/p>\n<p>It was <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/ks.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/3s.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> for Van Fleet and <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/qs.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/qc.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> for East. The <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/5c.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> turn was a blank, as was the <img src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/handy-cards\/cards\/2h.gif\" class=\"handy-cards\" width=\"25\" height=\"15\"> river. That dynamic duo shared $266,708.<\/p>\n<p>The final two tables wouldn\u2019t have looked out of place in a tournament 10-times the size. The likes of <strong>Marc Wright<\/strong>, <strong>Shawn Buchanan<\/strong> busting before the final table, and the likes of<strong> Ivan Tononi<\/strong>, and <strong>Griffin Benger<\/strong> crashing out in the last eight. Benger exited in fifth for $31,116.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Michael Tureneic<\/strong> was the penultimate player eliminated.
