There are few poker titles that Sam Greenwood<\/strong><\/a> hasn\u2019t managed to get hold of yet in his glistening career. He\u2019s triumphed in major tournaments around the world, including partypoker LIVE events<\/a>. Now he\u2019s on course to add the WPT Online Championship to his already ridiculous poker resume.<\/p>\n

Only 34 opponents stand between Greenwood and the $1,048,087 top prize awarded by this superb online tournament. A field of 2,130 competed over the course of four starting flights. They created a $6,390,000 prize pool, almost $1.4 million more than the advertised guarantee.<\/p>\n

The top 312 finishers locked up some of that huge prize pool. Some of those cashing included Team partypoker\u2019s Ludovic Geilich<\/strong><\/a>, Christoph Vogelsang<\/strong>, Andrew Pantling<\/strong><\/a>, Liv Boeree<\/strong>, Team Online\u2019s Jordan Drummond<\/a>, Kahle Burns<\/strong>, Jason Wheeler<\/strong>, and Matas Cimobolas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Those returning to the action on May 19 are a star-studded bunch. Greenwood leads but there are only a handful of big blinds separating him from the chasing pack.<\/p>\n

Greenwood has 4,635,621 chips going into Day 3. He leads from Pascal Hartmann<\/strong> (4,431,202), Max Silver<\/strong> (4,340,422), Rayan Chamas<\/strong> (4,246,913), and Aram Zobian<\/strong> (4,246,619).<\/p>\n

Other luminaries to look out for include Christian Jeppsson<\/strong>, Vicent Ramon<\/strong>, Ami Barer<\/strong>, and the in-form Benny Glaser<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Dan Smith Banks More Than $550,000<\/h2>\n

\"\"While the WPT Online Championship\u2019s field was being whittled to a more manageable number, the $25,500 buy-in Super High Roller<\/strong> was marching towards crowning its champion, an accolade that came with $555,503.<\/p>\n

That winner was none other than Dan Smith<\/strong> who won yet another major poker title. Smith came out on top of a 91-strong field to bank more than half a million dollars. He struck a deal with Canada\u2019s Daniel Dvoress<\/strong> when the pair were heads-up, Dvoress collecting $456,871 for his runner-up finish.<\/p>\n

Earlier at the final table, Giuseppe Iadisernia<\/strong> busted in eighth with Jake Schinder<\/strong> falling in seventh-place for $91,000. Elias Talvitie<\/strong> of Finland but residing in Austria, got his hands on the first six-figure prize of the evening, namely $113,750.<\/p>\n

Irish star John O\u2019Shea<\/strong> collected $159,250 when his tournament ended in a fifth-place finish, before Rob Lipkin<\/strong> scooped the $204,750 fourth-place award.<\/p>\n

Luke Reeves<\/strong> was the penultimate elimination of the night, his third-place finish securing a $295,750 payout. The man of the moment was Smith and he deservedly saw his bankroll swell by $555,503.<\/p>\n
