Charlie Carrel<\/strong> is one of the world\u2019s best poker tournament players and he really shone in the 14th event of the WPT Online Series<\/strong>, the $25,500 buy-in Super High Roller.<\/p>\n

WPT #14 \u2013 Super High Roller: $2M Gtd<\/h2>\n

A cool $2 million was guaranteed but a 98-strong field create a guarantee-busting $2,450,000 prize pool. This was shared among the top 16 finishers with a min-cash weighing in at $49,000.<\/p>\n

Australian superstar Michael Addamo<\/strong><\/a> was the unfortunate soul to burst the money bubble after busting in 17th place. This paved the way for such luminaries as Juan Pardo<\/strong>, Roger Teska<\/strong>, Nick Petrangelo<\/strong> and Matthias Eibinger<\/strong> to see a return on their investments.<\/p>\n

Conor Beresford<\/strong>, Vincent Ramon<\/strong> and Thomas Boivin<\/strong> also cashed before Sam greenwood busted in ninth-pl;ace for $61,250. The final table was set.<\/p>\n

Finland\u2019s Pauli Ayras<\/strong> performed heroics in the recent Poker Masters Online<\/strong> but could only muster an eighth-place finish here. Chris Hunichen<\/strong> collected the $98,000 seventh-place prize with Wiktor Malinowski<\/strong> banking $122,500 when his tournament ended in sixth.<\/p>\n

Fifth-place and $159,250 went to Arsenii Karmatckii<\/strong> before Ivan Galinec<\/strong> crashed out in fourth and scooped $214,375.<\/p>\n

Elias Talvitie<\/strong> was the penultimate player eliminated, the Finn collecting $306,250 for his third-place exit. This left Charlie Carrel and Ali Imsirovic<\/strong> to play heads-up for the title. Nobody would have been surprised to see a deal struck because more than $170,000 was the difference between the two payouts.<\/p>\n

No deal happened, however, meaning Carrel got his hands on $600,250 when he won the one-on-one battle. This left Imsirovic as the tournament\u2019s bridesmaid, a result that came with $428,750.<\/p>\n

WPT #17 \u2013 Mini 6-Max Hyper Knockout: $25K Gtd<\/h2>\n

The Mini 6-max Hyper Knockout<\/strong> only took 3.5 hours from start to finish despite having 84 1 entries. This made for a massive hourly rate for Argentina\u2019s Agustin Amestoy<\/strong> who was the last man standing in this event.<\/p>\n

The Argentinian defeated Kazakhstan\u2019s Vyachesav Bondartsev<\/strong> heads-up to bank $2,876 from the main prize pool plus an additional $2,538 worth of bounties. Our runner-up turned their $55 buy-in into $2,782 plus $648.<\/p>\n

Three other players won more than $1,000 when bounties were considered. Ross Elliott<\/strong> finished fifth for a combined $1,903, Matthew Eardley<\/strong> left us in fourth and reeled in, $2,047 while third-place finisher Aleksey Konoplev<\/strong> helped himself to a total prize worth $2,444.<\/p>\n

WPT #17 \u2013 6-Max Hyper Knockout: $100K Gtd<\/h2>\n

The $530 buy-in 6-max Hyper Knockout<\/strong> saw 251 players take to the partypoker felt and Chad Eveslage<\/strong> outlast them all. The Mexico-based grinder secured an $11,027 payout from the main prize pool which was boosted by $13,101 worth of bounties.<\/p>\n

Several household names put together deep runs. Sami Kelopuro<\/strong><\/a>, Marc-Andre Ladouceur<\/strong>, and Shawn Buchanan<\/strong> among them. Barry Hutter<\/strong> also cashed, while Marty Mathis<\/strong><\/a> and Connor Drinan<\/strong> made it to the final table, falling in sixth and fifth-place respectively.<\/p>\n
