What a weekend Team Online\u2019s Matthew \u201cMatthewStaples\u201d Staples<\/strong> had. One minutes he\u2019s sitting down to play in the final of the $1 million guaranteed partypoker MILLION<\/strong><\/a>, the next he\u2019s getting his hands on his largest online score yet.<\/p>\n

Staples was one of the 1,015 players who made it through to the final day\u2019s action. The final 792 players all won at least $517 for their effort. Some of those who saw a return on their investment included Richard \u201cRichyDubini\u201d Dubini<\/strong><\/a>, Jeff \u201cJeffGross\u201d Gross<\/strong><\/a>, Dzmitry \u201cDzmitry_Urbanov\u201d Urbanovich<\/strong>, Hristivoje \u201cAll_In_PAV\u201d Pavlovic<\/strong><\/a>, Joao \u201cbrjoaosimao\u201d Simao<\/strong><\/a>, Anatoly \u201cNL_Profit\u201d Filatov<\/strong><\/a>, Ludovic \u201cGr4vyBo4t\u201d Geilich<\/strong><\/a>, and Day \u201cdaykotoviezy\u201d Kotoviezy<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Each of the eight finalists locked up at least $12,640, but Staples was gunning for gold.<\/p>\n

\u201cBlaze\u201d<\/strong>, \u201cZi_JaMMieST\u201d<\/strong>, and \u201cDorianVnlza\u201d<\/strong> fell by the wayside before \u201cYoHHHHH_VirAL\u201d<\/strong> and \u201cRaiderNation888\u201d<\/strong> saw their tournament come to an abrupt end, the latter winning $60,509.<\/p>\n

Then came the time for Staples to bow out. The Canadian\u2019s third-place finish saw his bankroll swell by $93,003, a career-high for Staples.<\/p>\n

His exit left \u201cHei KID\u201d<\/strong> and \u201cCrixus-the-Gaul\u201d<\/strong> to fight it out heads-up, but it didn\u2019t take them long to settle the tournament with a deal. Hei Kid officially finished in second-place for $171,313 with Crixus-the-Gaul walking away as the champion and with $180,292 reasons to be happy.<\/p>\n

Jaime Staples Reached Grand Prix 4 Dealers Online Final Table<\/h2>\n

While Matthew Staples was on his way to winning almost $100,000, his brother, the one and only Jaime Staples<\/strong><\/a>, was bust navigating his way to a major final table. The Grand Prix 4 Dealers Online<\/strong><\/a> had $250,000 guaranteed but $285,142 was collected. This means more than $34,400 was raised for the fund set up to help freelance poker dealers through these tough, unprecedented times.<\/p>\n

Jaime Staples\u2019 impressive run ended in a fifth-place finish, a finish worth $7,767. It would have been fantastic for Jaime Staples to have walked away with the title but it wasn\u2019t meant to be.<\/p>\n

That honour went to Vinnie Mohan<\/strong> who defeated David Carrasco<\/strong> heads-up to claim the title and a cool $38,571 for his $55 buy-in. Congratulations.<\/p>\n

Joao Simao Finishes Second in Sunday Grind<\/h2>\n

Our Brazilian sensation Joao Simao<\/strong><\/a> almost walked away with the Sunday Grind: $200K Gtd<\/strong> title, but he fell at the final table. Simao outlasted almost all of the 667-entrants, to find himself heads-up against \u201coooooooooooo\u201d<\/strong>. Unfortunately for Simao, he couldn\u2019t quite get the job done when one-on-one and had to make do with the still-impressive $25,972 runner-up prize, leaving oooooooooooo to bank $36,478 for their $320 buy-in.<\/p>\n
