{"id":84105,"date":"2020-04-27T09:54:34","date_gmt":"2020-04-27T09:54:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog?p=84105"},"modified":"2020-04-27T09:54:34","modified_gmt":"2020-04-27T09:54:34","slug":"powerfest-round-up-another-title-for-joao-simao","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/powerfest-round-up-another-title-for-joao-simao.html","title":{"rendered":"POWERFEST Round-up: Another Title For Joao Simao"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>April 26 was a massive day for partypoker\u2019s tournament players. <strong>POWERFEST<\/strong> continued smashing its guaranteed and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/linus-loeliger-wins-massive-poker-masters-main-event-for-1-1m.html\"><strong>Poker Masters<\/strong><\/a> came to a thrilling conclusion.<\/p>\n<p>There was another POWERFEST title for Team partypoker\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/powerfest-round-up-wins-for-pavlovic-and-simao.html\"><strong>Joao Simao<\/strong><\/a>, there\u2019s simply no stopping the Brazilian sensation!<\/p>\n<h2>POWERFEST: $150K Gtd 8-Max PKO<\/h2>\n<p>Some 1,676 players bought into the <strong>$150K Gtd 8-Max PKO<\/strong> for $109 and it was our own Joao Simao who was the last man standing.<\/p>\n<p>Simao had to overcome a tough final table that included the likes of <strong>Diogo Veiga<\/strong> and <strong>Ali Zihni,<\/strong> the latter falling in sixth-place for $2,391 plus $693 worth of bounty payments.<\/p>\n<p>The top three finishers each won more than $10,000 when bounties were included. <strong>Rafael Eltz<\/strong> busted in third for a combined prize worth $10,246. Our Austrian star busted in seventh-place for $4,914 plus $3,180 worth of bounties.<\/p>\n<p>Ireland\u2019s <strong>Toby Joyce<\/strong> crashed in sixth for a combined $10,292 with another Ireland-based grinder in <strong>Darrell Goh<\/strong> seeing his tournament end in third place. This netted Goh a prize worth $26,490 in total.<\/p>\n<p>Goh\u2019s exit left <strong>Joonatan Kaunisto<\/strong> and <strong>Marc-Andre Ladouceur<\/strong> to play one-on-one for the title. Kaunisto lost the battle to the Canadian WSOP bracelet winner and consoled himself with a combined prize worth $38,811. As you would expect from a $5,200 event, those who cashed read like a who\u2019s who of online poker.<\/p>\n<p>Our own <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/powerfest-round-up-fts-for-leonard-gross-and-simunic.html\"><strong>Patrick Leonard<\/strong><\/a>, <strong>Connor Drinan<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/poker-masters-victories-for-watson-and-nemeth.html\"><strong>Mike Watson<\/strong><\/a>, <strong>Tom Middleton<\/strong>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/samuel-vousden-banks-520000-in-the-poker-masters.html\"><strong>Samuel Vousden<\/strong><\/a> cashed. As did Leonard\u2019\u2019s teammates <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/powerfest-round-up-jordan-drummond-secures-a-title.html\">Jordan<\/a> Drummond<\/strong> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/jouhkimainen-and-lefrancois-land-poker-masters-titles.html\"><strong>Joni Jouhkimainen<\/strong><\/a>, the latter falling in 10th for $20,900.<\/p>\n<p>Poker Master champion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/lefrancois-bags-second-poker-masters-title.html\"><strong>Pascal Lefrancois<\/strong><\/a> burst the final table bubble, falling in ninth for $20,900.<\/p>\n<p>The eight-handed final table was ridiculous; it was so packed with talent. <strong>Bruno Volkmann<\/strong> was the first casualty. Recent guest on the <strong>Jaime Staples<\/strong> Weekly Poker Showdown <strong>Benjamin Rolle<\/strong> followed suit before Poker Masters Main Event winner <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/linus-loeliger-wins-massive-poker-masters-main-event-for-1-1m.html\"><strong>Linus Loeliger<\/strong><\/a> fell in sixth for $49,315.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nick Petrangelo<\/strong> and <strong>Daniil Lukin<\/strong> crashed and burned before <strong>Jordi Urlings<\/strong>\u2019 tournament ended abruptly in third-place for a $123,874.<\/p>\n<p>Brazil\u2019s <strong>Yuro Dzivielevski<\/strong> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/william-foxen-among-the-first-poker-master-online-championship.html\"><strong>Alex Foxen<\/strong><\/a> fought it out for the massive top prize. It was Foxen who got his hands on this, a cool $239,413.
