He\u2019s not too shabby at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/\">online poker<\/a> either as it turns out as is evident by him taking down a massive Poker Masters tournament on April 19.<\/p>\n<h2>Poker Masters #16: $1M Gtd NLHE 8-Max<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-83578\" src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/event-16-600x447.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"447\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/event-16-300x224@2x.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/event-16-300x224.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/event-16.jpg 798w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It cost $25,500 to buy into the 16th Poker Masters event of the series and 72-players did exactly that. They created a $1,800,000 prize pool that the final nine players secured a slice of.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Elias Talvitie<\/strong> finished in 10th place, the last player to go home empty-handed, missing out on a $76,500 min-cash. Germany superstar <strong>Ole Schemion<\/strong> got his hands on this sum when he fell in ninth place.<\/p>\n<p>Super high roller expert <strong>Dan Smith<\/strong> busted in eighth for $81,000 before our very own <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/en\/p\/team-partypoker\/joni-jouhkimainen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Joni Jouhkimainen<\/strong><\/a> crashed out in seventh-place for $85,500. Jouhkimainen has been in superb form of late, cashing in high buy-in tournaments seemingly at will.<\/p>\n<p>Sixth-place and $99,000 went to 2019 WSOP Main Event runner-up<strong> Dario Sammartino<\/strong>. The Austria-based Italian was joined on the rail by <strong>Juan Pardo<\/strong> who banked $126,000.<\/p>\n<p>The remaining four players were all guaranteed $162,000 for their efforts and it was British star <strong>Conor Beresford<\/strong> who scooped this sum when he fell in fourth. Third-place and a cool $252,000 went to the one and only <strong>Steve O\u2019Dwyer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>O\u2019Dwyer\u2019s exit pitted <strong>Justin Bonomo<\/strong> against Koon for the title. There was a massive $180,000 difference in the payouts, but the heads-up duo didn\u2019t strike a deal. This meant Koon got his hands on a huge $549,000 when he came out on top. Bonomo padded his bankroll with a still mighty $369,000.<\/p>\n<h2>Poker Masters #17: $500K Gtd PLO 6-Max<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-83584\" src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/event-17-600x447.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"447\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/event-17-300x224@2x.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/event-17-300x224.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/event-17.jpg 798w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Scandinavian players excel at Pot-Limit Omaha and this was true in Poker Masters event 17. Ninety-two players bought in for $10,300 and four of the final table were from Nordic countries!<\/p>\n<p>Germany\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/en\/william-foxen-among-the-first-poker-master-online-championship.html\"><strong>Tobias Ziegler<\/strong><\/a> won a Poker Masters event last week but had to make do with sixth-place this time around. Ziegler enjoyed a $39,100 payday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Andreas Torbergsen<\/strong> of Norway finished in fifth for $57,500 before flying Dutchman <strong>Jorryt Van Hoof<\/strong> continued his remarkable run of form with a fourth-place finish worth $80,500.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aku Joentausta<\/strong> of Finland fell in third for $110,400 before another Finn, <strong>Eelis Parssinen<\/strong> defeated <strong>Bengt Sonnert<\/strong> of Sweden heads-up for the title. Victory was worth $287,781 with second-place weighing in at $179,400.<\/p>\n<h2>Poker Masters #18: $10,300 NLHE 6-Max<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-83590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/event-18-600x447.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"447\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/event-18-300x224@2x.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/event-18-300x224.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.partypoker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/event-18.jpg 798w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/>Another seven-figure prize pool was created in the 18th Poker Masters event, a $10,300 NLHE 6-Max affair.<\/p>\n<p>The top 12 finishers won a piece of the $1,040,000 prize pool. A min-cash weighed in at $28,493 with a final table appearance upping this to $44,200. That is the sum <strong>Edwin Villalobos Amaya<\/strong> collected when his tournament came to an abrupt end in sixth-place.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ole Schemion<\/strong> was the next player to pass their stack to someone else. Schemion collected $65,000 for yet another deep run in a major tournament.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Niklas Astedt<\/strong>, the world\u2019s number one online poker tournament player, fell in fourth spot for a $91,000 addition to his bankroll. <strong>Darrell Goh<\/strong>, a cash game specialist by trade, joined Astedt on the rail. Goh\u2019s third-place exit saw him pad his partypoker bankroll with $124,800.<\/p>\n<p>Heads-up was a superb match that saw <strong>Artur Martirosian<\/strong> fall at the final hurdle. The Russian won $202,800 for his runner-up finish after losing the legitimate superstar <strong>Linus Loeliger<\/strong> in the final battle.
