Two Goliaths of poker secured Poker Masters<\/strong><\/a> titles on April 18 as Mustapha Kanit<\/strong> and Timothy Adams<\/strong> swept aside all who took them on. Kanit walked away with $279,300 for his victory while Adams banked $243,988.<\/p>\n

Poker Masters #14: $500K Gtd NLHE 8-Max<\/h2>\n

The 14th Poker Masters Online event may have had a $500,000 guaranteed but the 114-players who entered created a $1,140,000 prize pool. This was shared among the top 16 finishers, with John Andress<\/strong> being the unfortunate soul who burst the money bubble.<\/p>\n

Andress\u2019 exit paved the way for a $22,800 min-cash for the remaining 16 players. Such luminaries as Kahle Burns<\/strong><\/a>, Niklas Astedt<\/strong>, Nick Petrangelo<\/strong>, Mike Watson<\/strong><\/a>, Jake Schindler<\/strong>, and Luke Reeves<\/strong> all made it into the money.<\/p>\n

The United Kingdom\u2019s Simon Higgins<\/strong>, runner-up in the Irish Open Online High Roller<\/strong><\/a>, fell in ninth-place to set the final table.<\/p>\n

Each of those finalists locked up $37,050 but with almost $280,000 up top, nobody wanted to fall by the wayside.<\/p>\n

Alex Foxen<\/strong><\/a> was the first to crash out. Simon Pedersen<\/strong>, Edwin Amaya<\/strong>, and Christoph Vogelsang<\/strong> joined Foxen on the rail. Brunno De Albuquerque <\/strong>exited in fourth place and was the last player not to reel in six-figures. The Brazilian did win $99,750 however,<\/p>\n

Artur Martirosian<\/strong> busted in third for $142,500 which left recent Poker Master champion Alexandros Kolonias<\/strong><\/a> and Mustapha Kanit<\/strong> to fight it out for the huge top prize. It was Kanit who was the last man standing, his reward weighing in at $279,300. Kolonias won $199,500 for his impressive runner-up finish.<\/p>\n

Poker Masters #15: $500K Gtd NLHE 6-Max<\/h2>\n

Some 78 entries of $10,300 were processed in the Poker Masters #15: $500K Gtd NLHE 6-Max<\/strong> to create a $780,000 prize pool that was divided up among the top 12 finishers.<\/p>\n

David Peters<\/strong>, one of the best NLHE tournament players in the world, finished in 13th place. Peters\u2019 exit secured at least $21,370 for the surviving players.<\/p>\n

Finnish superstar Sami Kelopuro<\/strong> was just one of those elite grinders to reach the money. As was Kolonias who finished in seventh-place to bubble the final table.<\/p>\n

Ali Imsirovic<\/strong> collected $33,150 for his six-place exit before Ben Heath<\/strong> and Foxen ran out of steam. Heath scooped $48,750 with Foxen padding his ever-growing bankroll with $68,250.<\/p>\n

Dario Sammartino<\/strong>\u2019s impressive run ended in a third-place finish and a $93,600 payday. Joao Vieira<\/strong><\/a> and Timothy Adams<\/strong> were the last remaining players yet no deal was struck despite there being an almost $92,000 difference between first and second place.<\/p>\n

It was Adams who got his hands on the biggest prize, one weighing in at $243,988. This left Vieira to claim the $152,100 runner-up prize.<\/p>\n
