Saying the 2020 Irish Open Online Main Event<\/strong> has been a success is one of the understatements of the year. The \u20ac1 million guarantee was blown out of the water thanks to the incredible support shown by our players.<\/p>\n

Some 2,945 players bought in for \u20ac1,100 and created a \u20ac2,945,000 prize pool<\/strong>, almost three-times the advertised guarantee. The top 408 finishers receive a slice of this gargantuan sum. Only 51 players remain in the hunt for the \u20ac462,099 first-place prize.<\/p>\n

The money burst on April 11 when Warren Aspey busted in 409th place. Aspey\u2019s exit locked up at least \u20ac2,149 for the surviving players.<\/p>\n

Such luminaries as Mohsin Charania<\/strong>, Timothy Adams<\/strong>, Mustapha Kanit<\/strong>, Richard Dubini<\/strong><\/a>, Jaime Staples<\/strong><\/a>, Anton Wigg<\/strong>, and Jeff Gross<\/strong><\/a> all busted inside the money. As did the likes of Liv Boeree<\/strong>, Adrian Mateos<\/strong><\/a>, Davidi Kitai<\/strong>, Matthias Eibinger<\/strong>, and Marvin Rettenmaier<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Day 2 ended with 51 players in contention for the first-ever Irish Open Main Event Online title.<\/p>\n

Luxembourg\u2019s Sihao Zhang<\/strong> is the man to catch going into the final day. Zhang finished the day with 4,974,266 chips in his stack, almost 1.3 million more than Ireland\u2019s Thomas Glynn<\/strong> on 3,678,862.<\/p>\n

Other high profile stars through to Day 3 include Andras Nemeth<\/strong> (2,986,539), Tom Middleton<\/strong> (2,655,259), Parker Talbot<\/strong> (2,413,526), 2019 WSOP Main Event finalist Nick Marchington<\/strong> (1,818,758), Vojtech Ruzicka<\/strong> (1,289,636), and Samuel Vousden<\/strong> (1,107,271).<\/p>\n
