The latest edition of the POWERFEST<\/strong><\/a> kicked off on March 15 and did so in style. More than 30 partypoker players claimed titles and although no members of Team partypoker<\/a> triumphed in an event, Joao Simao came agonisingly close.<\/p>\n

POWERFEST #02-H: $100K Gtd 8-Max<\/h2>\n

$100,000 was guaranteed in the POWERFEST #02-H: $100K Gtd 8-Max<\/strong> but a field of 2,100 players buying in for $109 created a $210,000 prize pool.<\/p>\n

Each of the eight finalists guaranteed themselves $2,257, the sum collected by \u201cArizer\u201d<\/strong> when they became the first casualty of the final table.<\/p>\n

\u201cTheDrino\u201d<\/strong> and \u201cMrEsprectro..\u201d<\/strong> were the next to fall and they were joined on the rail by \u201cmaxsuwillans\u201d<\/strong> and \u201cSemen Suarez\u201d<\/strong>, the latter banking the first five-figure prize of the tournament, namely $10,605.<\/p>\n

\u201cCAPN_Crunch\u201d<\/strong> busted in third for a $15,960. This left \u201ciRolledlow\u201d<\/strong> and Team partypoker\u2019s Joao \u201cXjoaosimaoX\u201d Simao<\/strong><\/a> to fight it out heads-up for the title.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately for our hero, Simao couldn\u2019t get the job done and fell short of yet another POWERFEST victory. Simao had to make do with the $24,717 consolation prize, leaving the champion to pad their bankroll with $35,070.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

POWERFEST #09-HR: $100K Gtd PLO 6-Max PKO<\/h2>\n

Simao came close to winning for a second time on Day 2 when he reached the final table of the POWERFEST #09-HR: $100K Gtd PLO 6-Max PKO<\/strong> event.<\/p>\n

Some 102 players exchanged $2,100 for 50,000 chips and a shot at glory. \u201cDas_Mutter99\u201d<\/strong> saw their tournament come to an abrupt end in sixth-place, a finish worth $5,061 plus $4,987 from the bounty prize pool.<\/p>\n

Our hero busted in fifth-place and won a combined prize that weighed in at $18,994. This was made up with $11,550 worth of bounties. Only the champion and runner-up helped themselves to more scalps.<\/p>\n

High stakes specialist \u201cJunglemandan\u201d<\/strong> fell in fourth for $10,421 plus $4,068. He was joined on the rail by \u201cCarnotaurus\u201d<\/strong> who banked $14,292 and an additional $9,450 from the bounty prize pool.<\/p>\n

Heads-up saw \u201cRaul33\u201d<\/strong> and \u201cCaptainThug\u201d<\/strong> lock horns in a fight for the giant bounty payment. Despite having thug in their name, CaptainThug lost the fight and finish in second-place. This was worth a combined $42,049 while our champion scooped a total prize worth $45,219.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Another $2,100 buy-in event smashed its guarantee thanks to 201 players buying in. This created a $412,050 prize pool that was divided up half among the top 32 finishers and half on the heads of each entrant.<\/p>\n

Team partypoker pro Jeff \u201cJeffGross\u201d Gross<\/strong><\/a> fell in 23rd place with Ludovic \u201cGr4vyBo4t\u201d Geilich<\/strong><\/a> busting in 14th.<\/p>\n

Patrick \u201cPatrick_Leonard\u201d Leonard burst the final table bubble when he was eliminated in ninth-place, but not before scooping a combined $5,939.<\/p>\n

\u201cMrDatt\u201d<\/strong>, \u201cTheNuts21\u201d<\/strong> and \u201cStrawberryGirl\u201d<\/strong> all hit the showers in quick succession. \u201cJunglemandan\u201d<\/strong> joined them after he ran out of luck in fifth-place. Junglemandan excels in these high stakes events having previously won the Big Game and partypoker MILLION on the same day<\/strong><\/a>! This latest result netted him $20,090.<\/p>\n

Our very own Anatoly \u201cNL_Profit\u201d Filatov<\/strong><\/a> had to console himself with a total of $27,567 after his impressive run ended in a fourth-place finish.<\/p>\n

Filatov gained some company on the rail when \u201caaaaaaaaaa\u201d<\/strong> busted in third for $44,503. This prize was slightly larger than the $43,324 \u201cjiggidyigjohn\u201d<\/strong><\/a> banked for finishing in second-place thanks to the monster-sized bounty payment aaaaaaaaaa collected.<\/p>\n
