Where the ISPT fell flat and overlaid by \u20ac600,000, the Grand Prix Poker Tour was an instant hit. Sunil Mistri<\/strong><\/a> won the inaugural event, which was held at Premier League outfit Chelsea\u2019s Stamford Bridge<\/strong>. Mistri banked a \u00a335,000 for his \u00a370 buy-in after outlasting 3,299 opponents.<\/p>\n

Daniel McNairney<\/strong><\/a> triumphed at Manchester United\u2019s Old Trafford<\/strong>, Nathan Farnaby<\/strong><\/a> emerged victoriously from St James Park in Newcastle<\/strong>, and Jack Kent<\/strong><\/a> lifted the winner\u2019s trophy aloft at Leeds United\u2019s Elland Road<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The tour headed to the home of Scottish football, Hampden Park<\/strong> in Glasgow where Drew Kirkland<\/strong><\/a> was victorious. James \u201cFlushy\u201d Dempsey<\/strong><\/a>, a regular feature on the partypoker LIVE streams, took down the Brighton leg at The Amex Stadium<\/strong>; Dempsey resides in Brighton so this victory was even more special. The Welsh got in on the action at the Cardiff City Stadium<\/strong>, although it was an English man who was triumphant, Alan Picken<\/strong><\/a> defeating home-town boy Daniel Hamblin<\/strong> for the title.<\/p>\n

Peter Cahill<\/strong>\u00a0won the\u00a0Irish Grand Prix<\/strong>\u00a0at the I.N.E.C Killarney<\/strong> before the tour returned to the home of British poker, Dusk Till Dawn. Former World Series of Poker Main Event finalist Jon Kalmar<\/strong> won that event for \u00a330,000.<\/p>\n

Grand Prix Poker Tour Heads Into Europe<\/h2>\n

Andrej Desset is a huge fan of the Grand Prix events.<\/p><\/div>\n

Following the success on home soil, the Grand Prix events expanded into Europe under the partypoker LIVE banner. The Vienna leg proved extremely popular.
